New site? Maybe some day.
day without mexicans fail |
good idea. the next day they can call in "fired". |
yeah, but then the employers would probably have to call in "sued" |
haha heard about this on the radio this morning. |
oh no! Where will I get my hair styled and my nails painted? How will I get my interior decorating done! |
i'm gonna call in straight on friday so i can have a 3 day weekend |
ok, so it's ok for them to just skip work for a day just because somebody told all of them to do it? So if I found some rape victim, it'd be okay for me to rape the bitch too because everybody was doing it. |
I'm calling in straight tomorrow too. |
sounds more like an excuse to skip work than a way of proving a point. |
national Land on a Cock day |

day without mexicans fail |
If society lives without gays or Mexicans, can we keep it that way?
Send all gays to Mexico! |
I'll call in and tell them I can't come in cause I'm busy committing rape. As opposed to somebody calling into work and telling them "I can't come in today cause I'm a homo |
that means like 3 kids i work with are calling in. great. |

I dunno Ken, I disagree pretty strongly. I agree that Proposition 8 violates the civil rights of gay people in the United States and I think it is a healthy exercise in democracy to try to create change through a peaceful, organized protest such as this. If the government is going to treat gays like second class citizens and bar them from the same privileges as others based on their sexuality, then society as a whole either needs to push for change or accept the consequences of governmental discrimination. |
Cue onslaught of ignorant comments about why gays shouldn't be allowed to marry for blablabla bullshit narrow-minded, brainwashed reasons. |
We need to stop basing laws and regulations off of what is "right" from the Word of God. That's what our government needs to do. |
And you, sir, need to follow up on that MKII and NBA Jam tournament. |
I'm thinking that the GLBT community is going to start really pushing it's civil rights agenda hard in the next few years.
I say good for them. I'm all for anything that subverts antiquated Christian morality based policy. |
And you, sir, need to follow up on that MKII and NBA Jam tournament. |
I have been playing the shit out of my NBA Jam TE cart lately. I am getting pretty nasty at that game.
And yeah, I suck. I will try to organize that tournament soon. |
NBA Jam TE with Hillary Clinton. She was SICK in that game. |

No sir, I agree with your statement wholeheartedly. Although i think calling in sick is NOT the way to push this point. Not that i have any better ideas, but i know if i called in "gay" to work tomorrow, i would be fired. Bottom line. And with the job market the way it is, that is not an option. This is why i said this is dumb, not because of the ideology behind it.... i mean shit, my bass player narky is gay. |
hahaha...holy shit, I forgot about that! |
my comment was in regard to hilary clinton in NBA Jam TE |

I guess my only response to this is that there's probably a philosophy that until there is a clear spokesperson, leader of the movement to promote the changes desired, it's probably not the quality of the protests, but the quantity. Getting news coverage is enough to raise a little bit of awareness. I mean, if we're talking about it here, it's already working to some degree. |
So they're calling out of work in protest, and spending the day doing community service? Yeah, what a pack of assholes...all wanting equal human rights and stuff. The nerve.
"Join The Impact, the online community that launched protests last month over the passage of gay marriage bans in California, Florida and Arizona, has urged people to withdraw $80 from their bank accounts Wednesday to demonstrate gays' spending power, and to devote the time they might otherwise spend watching TV or surfing the Internet to volunteer work."
WOW, total dicks, right? I guess they should just stand idly by while the government makes laws based on biblical dogma that violates their human rights.
I mean fuck them...who do they think they are...PEOPLE. |
I'm just going to go ahead and call my self a liberal faggot so no one else can beat me to being the first to say it here.
I'll just cheapen that for those who hate. |
Brian and Ken, go back and read the article. They're not calling in to stay home on their gay little asses, they're calling in to do community service and spend 80.00 at small, hurting local businesses to demonstrate just how large a chunk of the population is gay by making a community and economic impact. |
NBA Jam TE with Hillary Clinton. She was SICK in that game. |
Haha yes! I still have an old issue of Game Informer that has allll the cheats and hidden characters for TE. I play as Hil-Dawg all the time!
I love that there are two parallel conversations in this thread - one serious, one about NBA Jam. |

i'm with you on being against the violation of civil rights. i just think skipping work is a bad way to prove the point. what if a gay person's company was supportive of gay rights? wouldn't skipping work be a slap in the face to that supportive company? why make businesses pay for the government's transgressions? i think there are a lot more constructive ways for people to peacefully make their points and have their voices heard.

I tend to think that if the company were supportive of gay rights, they'd happily grand the person his or her day off. |
Eliminate all religious connections from Government, PERIOD.
I'm afraid we may not see this anytime soon; that is, unless the country splits. Religion and government don't mix. The unfair treatment of gays is due to a philosophy and moral judgement based off of religious ideals.
It's something I don't think we'll see even in our lifetime, perhaps. I've had this stance ever since I saw the corruption in society and government; my mother caught me burning bibles when I was 14 and I still won't back down. Death to Christianity. |
pam, i agree. the company would most likely just give the person the day off. i say, if you have a vacation day coming to you, take the day off and do what you have to do. as long as people aren't using it to screw over their place of employment, then do it. |
There are better ways to get their message across - but whatever it takes, I guess. |
I don't know. If they use a vacation day, then they get paid for that. To me that would screw over the place of employment more and a little less principled than missing work in a way that will probably leave them unpayed for the day. |
Yeah, definitely. By the nature of the protest and the careful way the LGBT community is doing things, I doubt anyone would skip out on work if they were forbidden to do so. |
Like I previously said, i agree with the ideology. But my company would not, under any circumstances give someone the day off to protest that they aren't being treated fairly. Mainly because in my workplace everyone is treated fairly. So why should my company suffer the loss of workers for a day. (Quite a few I may add) So again, yes, there SHOULD be people trying to show the country where they are going wrong, but i think people will lose their jobs in the process. |
When is national tittie liberation day? |
They had an interesting segment on Larry King last night. It was that really famous Preacher from down south that's always on TV. FUCK, what's his name..
Anyway, when Larry asked him about gays and marriage and rights, the guy literally choked up for a good 2 minutes. He then blurted out that he thinks they should not marry. It was kind of funny to watch. |
I'm sure most people will ask for permission to take part of it in those cases. People do tend to value their jobs very highly and what not. |

Joel Osteen? I'm sure he'll call in gay tomorrow |

if it's your vacation day, you can do what you want with it, so how would that screw over a place of employment? it doesn't matter if you're protesting for equal rights, going on a trip, or staying home to jerk off all day. it's your day off. |
Yes, sir. Joel Osteen. That guy is a fucking brainwashed pretty-boy, pseudo-mullet preaching piece of shit. That guy. |
Staying home to jerk off all day? Sounds like my kind of day off. |

I think the fact that it wouldn't matter what you're doing is part of the point. I could be wrong on this...I'm fine with that. |
whoops...I mean "contrary to the point"
fail |
I'm totally calling in rapey this afternoon and enjoying a smorgasbord of half-priced food and drink at Sam The Clam's. |
it's contrary to the point if the point is to get your employer to support your rights. taking a vacation day wouldn't hurt your employer at all. i thought the point was to get the government to support your riight to equal treatment. |
yeah, the more I think about it. I'm going to concede that point to you. |
your point makes sense. taking a day off without pay shows that these people are taking a stand with something to lose, not just something to gain. taking a vacation day means hey are risking nothing, but my point is to not cause collateral damage to the employer unless you want to risk the collateral damage of losing your job. |

oh man, my dad worships this guy. its fucking scary. last year he wanted Joel Osteen's book for xmas, so i got it for him, i thumbed through it and after about 10 pages i was seriously considering burning it and getting him something else. he tries to preach his shit to me, bad idea. |
Sounds like you need to have a little talk with your dad. |
yeah, the more I think about it. I'm going to concede that point to you. |
You and Dreadkill need to concede that you guys are going to call in Gay.
Jesus Christ, that was a lot of mutual verbal masturbation, fackin' queers. |
If I was gay, I would be more concerned with the fact that if I did this, I could risk being without a job in an economy where there are no jobs rather than my non-desire to participate in one of humanity's worst institutions. |

It's icky when boys kiss.

not one person from my department of over 100 people called out today. |
yeah, nobody called out of work here at the motorcycle shop either. |
nobody here...the one gay guy in my larger group is actually out at one of the hospitals training, so not really an option for him. |
Corporate America-1.
Queers-FAIL. |
well, my company isn't a corporation. But yeah...haha |
I walked by the one guy who's boyfriend I met and he wasn't there... hm.... |
Well it's almost noon on gay strike day... has the economy come to a standstill yet?
Anyone else not really surprised by this "strike"? The United States went to war, people were losing their jobs and their homes, and the biggest thing on gay people's radar was getting married. Now the economy is in the toilet, and they want people to call out of work. Maybe enough gaymos will get fired, and open up some jobs for real people. |
There are 3 people in the sales wing of my work, 2 IT guys, and 1graphic design guy out today. Which is a lot in a office of only about 35 people right now. Nobody besides me knew about the "movement" today.... so of course i clued everyone in.... which was maybe a bad idea. Because now people are calling the people who are probably legitimately sick (i know for a fact everyone besides one is straight.) and harassing them with voicemails. It's funny for sure, but i could see a lawsuit coming of this if someone that called in is in the closet and decides to be sensitive.
Goes to show, when you work in a testosterone driven sales office in Government Center with a bunch of dudes who only talk about football (mostly fantasy, not the NFL) or pretend to know about politics, and really just recite Jay Severin's bullshit, you probably should just keep your mouth shut..... but i have problems with that. |
I am gay, and I think this is stupid.
If you don't shout that you're gay in people's faces, the people you want to know won't fuck with you, and you hate the others anyway.
Not all gay men are sex maniacs. We're just men who love men. The whole world needs to just grow up about this and get over it, including gay activists.
Just to say FUCK YOU to all of these idiots, I'm taking Thursday off, and calling in stoned.
I'm remaining anonymous because I go to metal shows and I don't want my sexuality to be an issue. I know for a fact I'm not the only one on this board (and no it's not Dwyer). |
QUIT BEING A FAGGOT AND SUCK THAT DICK |
haha....
BRAAAAAAAAAAAAINS
I mean...PENISSSSSSSS |
I just said to the biggest homophobe in the office "I thought you were calling out sick today in protest" |

The majority of the gay people I've met have been nothing but attention starved antisocial misfits, who claim to be gay not because they're actually gay, but because they want people to pay attention to them. It's no surprise to me that gay priorities, as xmikex pointed out, consist entirely of calling attention to themselves regardless of what's going on in the world around them.
Gays are awesome. Fuckers know how to party. |
this was a total bust. Now if it were mexicans and arabs that had a national call in sick day, I'd be screwed. I wouldn't be able to buy ciggarettes and piss and shit all over freshly cleaned toilets. Thank god those fuckers never strike! |
