I dunno Ken, I disagree pretty strongly. I agree that Proposition 8 violates the civil rights of gay people in the United States and I think it is a healthy exercise in democracy to try to create change through a peaceful, organized protest such as this. If the government is going to treat gays like second class citizens and bar them from the same privileges as others based on their sexuality, then society as a whole either needs to push for change or accept the consequences of governmental discrimination.

No sir, I agree with your statement wholeheartedly. Although i think calling in sick is NOT the way to push this point. Not that i have any better ideas, but i know if i called in "gay" to work tomorrow, i would be fired. Bottom line. And with the job market the way it is, that is not an option. This is why i said this is dumb, not because of the ideology behind it.... i mean shit, my bass player narky is gay.
