I am the guitar player for the Motley Crue tribute band Red Hot (www.RedHotCrue.com). I am posting this message to tell you about what happened to us this past Saturday at Irish Times.

After playing for more than 70 minutes of our two+ hour show, they told us to get off the stage and to stop playing, and offered us 1/3 of our agreed to pay.

Outraged, I asked them to explain why. The person who made the "call" stated, "I told your singer not to swear and he did, so your done." -this is a direct quote (BTW, as soon as we stopped, he put on rap music with every other word being a swear). I began to push about our pay which is a direct contractual obligation. I explained to him that he is in violation of the law, and that he is going to be held responsible. His response was to go get the officer standing outside the bar to remove me from the club stating, "I don't need to take this abuse" -anotherdirect quote. I was polite and professional during this conversation as anger and yelling never gets results. In this case, neither did being professional.

Now, all my gear (and the rest of the bands') still is not packed. At no time did anyone get out of line. The cop even told me that he saw nothing wrong, but if a club wants you out, you gotta go, regardless of the $ value of your gear still inside. My band mates packed up for me.

I would HIGHLY encourage you guys to cancel any show there you have booked there (two bands that were there have already done so) or don't book there at all to show this club that they cannot be screwing hard working musicians out of their pay. Or if you are not a musician, simply don't go there. And, if you do not share a sense of solidarity with the other working musicians, than at least take my warning and watch your mouth!

I do sincerely hope that you all do the right thing and stand up to clubs that do this sort of thing.

i didnt even know that place had live bands, i've been there to eat and drink a few times

my old man used to go there after work every night. Its a real nice place, but thats stupid. Every one there swears, especially the bar tenders.

Good thing they opened up a Pub 99 right down the street. That place is my favorite restaurent...

the new pub is excellent.

lynneaus and i went to the other pub bcz they have quite a few veggie choices that are it appetizers...right now i forget the name but you get popcorn while waiting for your food (if it's dinner time)
