So why are bands that would have previously played the palladium downstairs now almost always at Royale, house of blues, etc? Thinking of carcass, slayer, that sort of thing. More $?

Live Nation and Bowery are making better offers. Plus, there has been a long time since Boston proper has had shows.

It seems like it. I haven't seen a lineup announced yet for New England Metal and Hardcore Fest. While I think that fest sucks ass for the most part, if that isn't happening, you know the Palladium has gone downhill as far as hosting metal shows.

Boston Proper.... Two words that don't belong in the same sentence...

Haven't been there in 10 years. I once in awhile look at their event schedule. Disappoints.

* the episode of ghost hunters where they investigated the palladium in 2006 was hilarious though.

They should revisit the idea of turning it into a parking lot.

"These days, the Palladium hosts a lot of hard rock and heavy metal acts, Rucker said. He and John Peters, the owner, are interested in expanding the menu of acts to include more indie, pop and country music. "
