Unearth is ok....but their riffs seem to be filled with a lot of re-hashed Hatebreed stuff....I dunno....maybe I'm just pissy. I'm going to go listen to Amon Amarth now.....

i agree but i am one of those fucks that hates all the little brats that think they are super metal guy cause they just started listening to bands i been into for over 10 years. i just hate the "underground scene" become the mainstream and creating 1000 carbon copy bands. not to mention i think that after real metal makes a bigger comeback and metalcore stops being the new NU metal. then in 5 years bands like amon armarth will be in nike commercials......hell look at in flames new hip hop core video haha

The thing about all the carbon copy (ie generic?) bands with this "underground scene" is they won't last. Independent labels sure as hell aren't going to waste money on them because they never have. For the most part they are smart with their money and aren't going to waste it on some shitty band, because they know it won't sell. If major labels want to do it, then they can go for it, but I think even they are being a little more realistic about things when it comes to these "underground" and unradio friendly bands.

Good for Unearth though. Yes, they had two bigger tours, but they did this pretty much on their own with hard work. Just wait until the Ozzfest sales kick in. I don't see how this can be anything but possitive...

god forbid a band who's been working their asses off since I was seeing them at YMCA's in maine when I was 15 years old finally gets some positive cd sales.

i was surprised that unearth didn't chart higher. i had them pegged to blow up more and possibly become the biggest thing in metal(core). like jay TUS said, "wait until the ozzfest sales kick in." i think by the end of ozzfest unearth will be the biggest band on the tour. i agree that it would be better to hear metalcore on the radio and all over mtv than nu-metal, but i'd rather it be a more deserving metalcore band with more interesting songs. unearth just cuts and pastes old in flames riffs and hatebreed breakdowns. i'm sure they worked hard on promoting themselves and busting their asses on tour, but there's no way they worked hard on their songs. whatever, i need to quit bitching about unearth and go listen to the new neurosis and other music that i enjoy.

unearth definetly busted their asses... I mean if you listen to some of the guitar riffs, I couldn't play a lot of that shit, buzz is actually a pretty good guitarist and writes probably most of the shit... I bet 75% of the kids on this board couldn't outplay buzz.

Keep in mind, I'm not an unearth fan.

Their breakdowns are closer to being Meshuggah stop and go riffs than anything by Hatebreed. The new Neurosis is great as well, and i'm glad I don't limit myself to what music I listen to, or else i'd be missing out on tons of great bands out there. Metal or not.

when I saw unearth they werent that good. coulda been the mix tho I suppose, cuz the hall was pile of fucktards.
