I will say this COULD be an awesome game to translate into a movie. BUT it will be terrible.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Jan 4,2013 10:41am
if there are no scenes of making ooze travel through pipes, no care.

False trailer. If this movie was done right, it would be amazing

Video game movies are never good.

Especially the Resident Evil and Silent Hill movies, which is a shame, because both of those could've been quite great if they... you know, tried.

I agree with aril.

System Shock is an excellent game but it has absolutely nothing to do with Bioshock in any way so what is the point?

No way dude, Silent Hill was probably one of the best movies after a video game. not perfect, but followed the story line closer than most

Does it? I haven't seen either Silent Hill movies, but based off nearly everything i've heard, it sounds bad.

The Resident Evil movies, however, I know for a fact are terrible terrible.

System Shock 2 laid the foundation for Bio Shock. Both good titles, but Bio Shock was made as a successor to the System Shock games. The gameplay is pretty similar, albeit the story isn't too similar.
It's like comparing new Ulver to old Ulver. Same vocalist, different styles

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jan 4,2013 3:00pm
Also, System Shock 2 would have been way more popular had Halflife not exploded in popularity. Oh well, Halflofe may be the greatest FPS evar.

toggletoggle post by trioxin245  at Jan 4,2013 3:02pm
Bioshock had a way cooler premise, but yea. Old > new etc etc

Nah, ive just played the fuck out of SS2. I want to play BS again. Not knocking it in any way. Alls imma saying is if anyone hasnt played SS2, please doooooooo.

toggletoggle post by trioxin245  at Jan 4,2013 3:03pm
But yea Bioshock is an obvious successor to System Shock games but plays a lot different.

toggletoggle post by trioxin245  at Jan 4,2013 3:04pm

Never saw the second Silent Hill movie as i didnt realize there was anything but the original. However, the first Silent Hill movie followed the game plot fairly closely for the first half of the movie, it went out a bit on a limb afterwards minus a few plot changes (i.e. it wasnt the girls father, it was the mother going through all the early game cinematics. followed it pretty closely, i was impressed they tried that hard)

System Shock 2 is one of my top 10 games of all time, though. Jus' sayin' as far as nowadays consoles go, I thought Bioshock was PROBABLY the best game I've played.

toggletoggle post by trioxin245  at Jan 4,2013 3:07pm
Also, I definitley noticed similarities between bioshock and system shock games, but I didn't realize they were made by some of the same people and everything haha. I RETRACT MY STATEMENT

Speaking of the word "Shock" ...

Anyone remember that horrible local band from like 10 years ago called SHOCKWAVE? just found two of their stickers in an old notebook. CSB.

the Silent Hill exhibit at Halloween Horror Nights in Universal was awesome, far better than the lame-ass Walking Dead one.
