Red Dead Redemption is a great and inexpensive game with TONS of hours of gameplay. Its basically GTA in the wild west. if you get the Game of the Year edition or whatever its called, it should come with the zombie add on too, where you're stuck in the old west with a zombie infestation. its pretty awesome.

As for games for the PS3, since you're a n00b, definitely get God of War Saga (if you didn't already get the others for PSP/PS2).

Red Dead Redemption is fun too and HUGE. You can get it fairly cheaply now.

I love the KillZone franchise. Lots of run & gun. Best buy had all three games plus an official PS3 controller for $60. Not bad considering an extra controller is $50 and the newest one is still like $40.

Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are probably my two favorite superhero games of all time. Story is fun and goes by really smoothly. Start off w/Asylum first. You can get it for like $15 now.

Uncharted - wicked good ps3 exclusive series. You can get 1 & 2 in a pack new for like 25 bucks. Anyone who owns a ps3 needs these games.
