INB4 PRIMUS SUCKS. EVEN THOUGH THATS WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO SAY

Recently threw on Sailing the Seas of Cheese because I haven't listened to it in forever. If there's a bass player that doesn't respect Les Claypool then you a fool, nilla. So they had an album come out last year? Any good or what? I know nothing about it, haven't been paying attention to Primus at all for a while.

I don't mean to be an elitist snob, since that's already my reputation, but I fucking LOVE Primus.

...but their new album is one of the worst albums I have ever heard. I seriously consider it on par with the new Morbid Angel album for worst album of 2011.

And sitting through Primus playing that album in entirety last September was PAINFUL, especially considering I didn't know they were doing that until the night of.

No idea. Only colonel claypool's bucket of Bernie brains is real anyways.

I really like it, personally. Some people have noted it "rocks out " less than other albums. It is relatively restrained. The drumming is very tasty. Some of the songs don't sound like anything special when you first listen to them, but they really get inside your brain for a long time. Eyes of a Squirrel is an example.

I listened to the new album once and just didn't give a shit.

Only Frizzle Fry, Seas of Cheese, and Tales From the Punchbowl are real.

The new album is terrible.

Normally Les Claypool doesn't give a shit, and it comes out great, but with this album it sounds like Les Claypool tried not to give a shit and failed.

Basically, it's pretty bad. Some cool basslines, some cool drum fills, etc. but the music as a whole is a major piss-poor-fest.

Lee Van Cleef is the best song on the album. Too much squishy envelope filtered bass tone, drumming is meh, Ler is mixed too low. Usual deal really

I can't really get into it. I fucking love Jay's drumming though. Watching him play their old stuff is fucking gold.

I semi-take that back. I'm listening to it again now. I like it, but it doesn't give me that warm and fuzzy feeling.

I may be biased because I respect anything Les Claypool does but I think it's a great album.

to much like all of claypools recent output, meh, no real old school primus vibe.

You're leaving out Pork Soda. Welcome to This World is gigantic.

Yeah, that one is okay... I just don't consider it as essential as the other three.

New album is bad. I only liked one tune on it.

totally 100% true. had to force myself to listen to it all the way through a couple times before deciding they were totally mailing it in on this one.
