New album is heavy! Just came out today. These dudes are solid, support 'em.

Great cover art. Cool riffs. Sounds like a drum machine though?

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Apr 3,2012 5:41am
PS: For the record, yes I am digging this, definitely.

toggletoggle post by dickhead666 at Apr 3,2012 5:47am
It's a real drummer. (the kick was triggered big time, I think right when they tracked the drums)

toggletoggle post by trioxin_245  at Apr 3,2012 12:04pm
this isn't half bad, but it's NOT GRINDCORE. DO YOU PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT GRINDCORE IS? BLASTBEAT =/= GRINDCORE

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Apr 3,2012 12:07pm
^ lol.

toggletoggle post by trioxin_245  at Apr 3,2012 12:16pm
THIS is grindcore. You see how the 'core' part fits into the music? THERE'S A REASON THEY CALL IT THAT PEOPLE

GAY

toggletoggle post by dickhead666 at Apr 3,2012 12:59pm
LOL!!

dunno man, that's what they call themselves, i hear plenty of grind in this. it's not orthodox old-school purist shit, there's tons of metal in some of the tunes but a good portion of the riffs and note choices come directly from grind. "death/grind" would be more accurate i guess?

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Apr 3,2012 1:48pm
lol @ calling out a band for not being grind and then using Nasum as your template band

toggletoggle post by yummy at Apr 3,2012 1:48pm
I would call it grind. But, without necessity to label it at all. This is good shit.

what is your point? Nasum is an excellent example of grind.

toggletoggle post by yummy at Apr 3,2012 1:52pm
Some would disagree with you. But, I don't. Not my overall favorite by a long shot.

toggletoggle post by trioxin_245  at Apr 3,2012 1:55pm
it's not a matter of whether or not you like them, they ARE grindcore, in all aspects. saying otherwise is like saying destruction isn't a thrash band just because you didn't like 'release from agony'

toggletoggle post by yummy at Apr 3,2012 2:04pm
People hate hearing this, YOU'RE RIGHT. I don't disagree about them as an excellent example of grind. But this thread isn't about them.

toggletoggle post by trioxin_245  at Apr 3,2012 2:06pm
kid your mom's not about them

Nasum is an excellent example of boring commercial grind.

toggletoggle post by trioxin_245  at Apr 3,2012 2:09pm
cool opinion, bro.

toggletoggle post by arillius_the_white at Apr 3,2012 2:11pm
Discuss it over a game of d&d

toggletoggle post by yummy at Apr 3,2012 2:11pm
I have never seen a commercial with Nasum in it. But if they do one, I would suggest flood insurance, nah maybe Travel Agency.

Rising from the flood waters comes a lifetime supply of Swedish fish...

toggletoggle post by dickhead666 at Apr 3,2012 2:19pm
a good amount of Nasum's stuff is awesome.

toggletoggle post by trioxin_245  at Apr 3,2012 2:21pm
I don't care about anything after inhale/exhale. actually I havn't even HEARD anything after it.

toggletoggle post by dickhead666 at Apr 3,2012 2:22pm
hopefully these Saudi mofos can make it over for a US tour and hit up Boston.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Apr 3,2012 2:24pm
Some of the stuff on Grind Finale is pretty cool but their whole discography just lacks that raw punch to me that so many of the great grind bands have. As far as a "commercial" grind band goes, I'd definitely take them over a lot of their counterparts but I mean, if I was to show someone a bunch of good grind bands I thought were essential listening, there's no way in hell they'd make the cut.

toggletoggle post by yummy at Apr 3,2012 2:25pm
Well put Michael.

toggletoggle post by trioxin_245  at Apr 3,2012 2:27pm
I would definitely include inhale/exhale on a list of essential grindcore albums, regardless of whether or not it's 'commercial.'

toggletoggle post by Ancient_Master  at Apr 3,2012 2:28pm

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Apr 3,2012 2:29pm
I've heard the argument made before that Terrorizer falls under the same "commercial" spectrum and I still think World Downfall is essential listening so there's my input.

toggletoggle post by trioxin_245  at Apr 3,2012 2:30pm
only Majesty was real.

toggletoggle post by dickhead666 at Apr 3,2012 2:35pm
weird, whoever calls Terrorizer commercial sort of implies that there was a huge range of grindcore "branches" already in existence when World Downfall came out.

toggletoggle post by trioxin_245  at Apr 3,2012 2:36pm
yea, it's a pretty dumb thing to say. oh well.

that Diborce stuff rocks, never heard of them.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Apr 3,2012 2:48pm
They have a full length that sounds awesome too, but apparently nobody else has heard of them either so it's not on Youtube. I only know one dude who had heard of them and basically spread this knowledge to me...

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Apr 3,2012 2:50pm
I still think when this LP comes out it'll be the best grind record since World Extermination

toggletoggle post by trioxin_245  at Apr 3,2012 3:10pm
yea they're a good band. I used to trade with the drummer, he had a bootleg vhs distro with alllllllll kinds of obscure shit. that's how I first saw street trash.
