CLASSIC ENSLAVED ALBUM REISSUED

Philadelphia: Candlelight Records confirms August 10 as the US release date
for Enslave's Vikingligr Veldi/Hordanes Land. Currently unavailable in the
US, the mid-line priced reissue is expected to be followed by the band's new
album sometime this fall or early new year.

Recorded in 1994, the majestic romp of Vikingligr Veldi stands as one of
Enslave’s most acclaimed recordings. Utilizing synthesizers, piano and guitars to
strong effect, the album conjures a trance-like state through a blurring wall
of sound. The caliber and craftsmanship of each song’s arrangement allows
the extensively lengthy songs to thrive, a particular characteristic of the
Bergen-based band. For the reissue, Candlelight has added the band's hard-to-find
Hordanes Land mini-album.

2003 Norwegian Alarm Award and two-time Norwegian Grammy Award nominees
Enslaved are a band held in high esteem. Their recordings epitomize the best in
Norwegian viking metal and through their growing and musicially creative
history, the band have become one of the genre’s most respected. Formed in 1991,
Enslaved have shown remarkable will and ability to continually twist their
musical vision into new and dynamic forms. The band are known as a hard-working
ensemble who dominate the live arena. Kerrang once noted, “Enslaved steal the
show with a gloriously ambitious set bolstered by a dizzying light show that has
‘should have been headliners’ written all over it.”
