another year passes by, another year i dont give a fuck about meshuggah. its amazing to think i havent cared about anything this band has done since 'chaosphere'
I didn't care for Nothing in the slightest bit. I and Catch 33 were alright. But Obzen is very good.

It's unmistakably Meshuggah, but at first listen I thought it was a bit stagnant. It's definitely growing on me with repeated listens. Meshuggah never fails to deliver.

I say fake. It's too relaxed, just like a copy cat band

it might be that i am really high, because i totally am, but this song sounds incredibly powerful and complex... texture wise. it sounds like the perfect soundtrack to a rally crash montage.

The only programmed drums used on actual recordings were Catch 33 and the Nothing remaster. Basically whichever guitarist writes the song, also writes the drum patterns by programming them on a computer. Haake then learns those parts and records them.

This song is ok..Hopefully rest of album is better.
First listen, I don't care for it...really at all. Please don't let the entire album be an hour of that. I liked the other new song but wasn't blown away. Maybe it'll grow on me or I'll just wait 4 years again for them to add more strings to their guitars and blow my mind. I wonder what they would play if they wrote their songs together as a band...
None is probably my favorite. Maybe because it only has what like 5 songs on it? and they're all great. I like DEI and Chaosphere and dug Special Defects quite a bit so I may be anticipating that new album moreso than Meshuggah's.
Catch 33 gets a lot of hate, but i thoroughly enjoy it. i can't judge that song above, some of their songs sound really out of place when played outside of the album. hopefully it lives up to ObZen, which was stellar.
