I'll make a serious post. There are posters here who are fans of traditional/true/heavy metal. There's just a higher rate of extreme metal bands and fans on the board, that's all.
I haven't seen any posts (and maybe I should make one) about a heavy metal festival taking place out in IL this coming May. I already have a ticket and am planning to drive out to it. It's called Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse and the lineup is Wizard (Germany), Virgin Steele, Brocas Helm (reuniting for the show), Pharaoh (singer from Control Denied), Borrowed Time (sweet band from Michigan), and some others. The organizers almost had Sacred Steel and are trying to get Flotsam and Jetsam. Whether Flots get on or not (it would rule if they did) I'm hoping this'll be a good time.
There's also a fest called Warriors of Metal in Ohio which is in July, I believe, which has Helstar, Twisted Tower Dire, Argus, and more on the lineup. If I have the money I wouldn't mind getting out to that one. |
