this site has always been a place where buddy bands plan/promote shows to buddies. Some of these bands grow into something more, some don't. So what? Why do you care?

You sir(miss?) sound bitter. Maybe you went to a show at Ralph's, felt like EVERYONE knew each other... except for you. You felt excluded, and that made you angry. It made you angry that so many OTHER people could all be jovial and have a good time with each other, and you couldn't. Maybe you tried to talk to some of the people there, but your awkwardness at feeling left out made talking to you boring, and quite frankly uncomfortable for the talk-e. Or maybe you're just too stupid, and can't hold up your end of a conversation. Either way, this silly, silly attempt at lashing out shows that you were hurt on a deep emotional level (maybe it drudged up memories from when you were molested as a child, then abused and neglected) at one of these shows. That's too bad. Because you know what you're doing here? You're basically saying that having an active "scene" is a bad thing. Think about it, what else IS a scene if not a group of "buddies" that all share common tastes in music, and try their best to go out and support their friends' bands?
The reason i'm reacting so stronly here is simple. I've recently told my good friends how i've never really felt like I had a solid group of people that cared about me, that i cared about too.. now i do. I love the MA "metal" scene. And if you don't see it as a positive, move to a place where the only people attending shows are the bands GFs. Those places are not only common, but they're the norm.

Ralph's is amazing. I'm very proud to have had the chance to be part of that amazing club. As for buddy buddy someone mentioned it above, it is one of the only places where you can go and see all the people like us, I for one am proud to be part of that. Just wish I wasnt so far away, I'd definitely be there more often.
