Its a shame that you can't come. Its also one of my good friends birthday and this was the only night available after I changed it from the other date(the one UI couldnt play). These things happen. :\

It's ok. My primary occupation means working on Fridays and Saturdays and I have 2 children...I am a professional show-misser.
He was going to until his other half removed his testicles and wont let him. She doesn't want to spend his birthday doing something he'd enjoy. Hahahaha
we obviously have no problem with playing whenever, but if this scheduling conflict is in regards to their drummer not being able to get there in time, couldn't they close and we go before them? As opposed to pushing the sets later, that is.
PS: Jim, I've gathered the chiptune songs and others. I'm also working on another. Will get you them shortly. Was hoping to make this so we could discuss!
this shows's gonna fucking RULE. We have an awesome set list for this show, i can't freaking wait to play... last time UI played, i had what i would call my own worst performance on the drums... so i've been working my fucking ass off trying to REALLY nail DC's parts. Obviously, i still don't claim to play them perfectly, but i feel better about them then i ever have before.
As far as I know Angel Dust is going to ahve to headline cause Kerswill double booked and has to play the lucky dog with his other band first. not 100% certain on that though so i suggest talking with mike about it.
If Kerswill can't be there any earlier than 11 they will have to headline. At the same token that may mean UI will have to shorten their set so AD isn't going on at like 1245. Gayness is gay. Will have a definite answer by tomorrow.

i feel like if you double book a show date, you should not expect a $ guarantee. especially if the show is in teh same city.
I will handle that as it comes. Tangents is playing at 930 at the dog and he is borrowingg a kit there so he is gonna set his kit up early at Oasis and should be back in time for the 11 slot or they may start 5 or 10 minutes late. All is well.
So...
drummer double books... IF he gets back in time, UI will just start later than their already 12:15am start time. OR if he's later, than UI will just have to play the earlier time... but have a shorter set. Cool.

Actually I had reworked the times after i found out and forgot to post them hereso Lore is only going to do a half hour. Meaning AD at 11 and UI at 12. At the latest you'll be starting at 1215.
ughh... like i said, we're fine with playing whenever... but i gotta admit, i certainly prefer when we're on earlier at a gig... cause i don't like to drink before i play, it throws my timing off. Even a beer throws my timing off. But, with us going on so late, i don't see how i can avoid having ANYTHING to drink.
worked extra hours midweek so I could go to work late tomorrow and stay til the end of this... actually I had no choice in working those extra hours, but shit couldn't have worked out any more perfectly if I had planned it this way. pregaming to commence now!
Btw, anyone coming from outside of worcester there's construction at the beginning of the street this club is on. If you're coming from anywhere remotely close to the highway or downtown, when you're a couple blocks from the club, Turn left onto Heard Street (by a CVS) and follow the signs for the detour.
i will. right now i just have a hour and a half video with no track breaks. I'm gonna go through it and find the ones that came out the best, then i'll post those... only thing is, it's basically a drum cam. You can hear the whole band, but it's pointed right at my drum set from up close so you can see everything i do... i do that so i can watch back and see where i need to work on technique.
yeah, Aenima was hilarious... Originally I walked up to Tony and asked him to do the "learn to swim" part of Aenima with us. (in addition to doing the screams in Ticks) I told him that we were opening with it, and he said "you're opening with a 15 minute track?!" and i said "nope, it's a little less than 10 minutes." than Aaron walked over and started talking to him, that's when we realized that he thought we were talking about 3rd Eye. (it was late, he was drunk.. no biggie, we knew that he knew the song anyways.) He then said that he wasn't sure when it came in, and Aaron responded with "well, i'll do that part with you when it comes in, and i'll give you a nod so that you know when to start." ...................
From then, we got set up, started the tune to open the show, and Tony ran up on stage with us.. I was thinking, i wonder if he's gonna dance around on stage until that part comes.. considering that we had just started the song, and the part that he was doing didn't come for almost 4 minutes.) The he picked up the mic and started screaming EVERY LINE with Aaron... lulz.... Aaron was looking at me like "WTF is Tony doing?!" and I was trying to get Tony's attention... when he finally looked over at me, i was like "dude, stop that!" and he said "Aaron told me to." so i just smiled, and enjoyed our "core" version of the song. hahaha, watching the video last night i couldn't stop laughing when i was watching it. I mean, there were only about a dozen people there at that point, (about 12:30am) so it's not like it bothered us or anything, it was just strange to have someone scream every note with the vocals to TOOL...
(i will admit though, I am personally a little bummed.. I'd feel weird posting the video of us playing Aenima on Youtube, because it's kind of hard to hear Aaron over Tony, and i don't want people to see that and think that Aaron doesn't actually sing the songs... and i played it almost perfectly too. That's the song i spent the most time on these last couple weeks. :( But no matter, Tony is still one of my favorite people on the planet.. I mean that. I especially like playing when he's there, because i know he really "feels" the music, and he gets really into it.. and he's always super nice to me. So Tony, don't be hurt by this post, just remember that i love you.... and DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!!
Then he did "Ticks" with us, and did it freikin perfectly...
yeppir. I'm sorry, but demanding a 300dollar guarantee, and GETTING 250... while showing up RIGHT before your set, and leaving RIGHT after your set.. is crazy. I can't believe Mike even paid them before the night was over. I thought it was common knowledge that if a band wants to get paid, then they stay till the end. At least, that's the way I've always seen it done...
haha yeah i was a bit confused at Aenima, we only briefly talked about it, then i did it and realized i was doing it wrong. oh well, won't happen again. as long as Ticks sounded good.
i'm a bit annoyed at Angel Dust. first and foremost they didn't sound good at all, the lead singer didn't seem to give two shits that they were playing. but to demand a guarantee, double book, force the first show you booked to change around to meet your needs (while threatening to cancel) and then show up 5 seconds before playing, play a mediocre set, and screw afterwards is pretty fucking lame. i don't care who you are, what you've done in the past, if you need money that bad, get a goddamn job. Mike did what he could to make the show happen, and he should be commended for that, but he did ultimately get dicked around pretty hard.
Hard 9 sounded good also, unfortunately it wasn't a very energetic crowd, which is what they need.

well they did stay til the end but hung out in the bar area which was kinda lame. i had kind of a back and forth with derrick about it cause i was hammered and pissed about the other bands not getting paid much. he said he had no idea about that and was just going with the arrangment set up with the club (mike maybe should have informed him that if they got their full guarantee the other bands would not be paid much given the circumstances but it was pretty obvious and i dont really know what was discussed.) its all be cleared up now but the whole thing was just a shitty situation. i mean i hate it when money issues get in the way of a good rock show but you dudes needed gas money and this was gonna be our last show for awhile so we could have used some cash for recording. oh well.

and when i asked the keyboard player if he could PLEASE move his stuff to the side BEFORE neatly wrapping up all his cords, because i set my drums up in that spot... he said.. and i quote.. "dude, chill.. i'll only be a couple minutes."

i'm positive UI was the tightest i've seen them. don't worry about tony fucking everything up because it sounded great either way. angel dust - the band sounded good and it was cool to hear some tunes i haven't heard in years, but could the singer at least try to not sound like townie bar nickelback karaoke? i didn't expect anything close to mike patton but...goddamn.
anyway, totally worth coming to see everybody and it's too bad there wasn't more people there. a couple guys behind me said "WAAWW THIS IS JUST LIKE SEEING TOOL" and then probably had to leave because the girl with them was hammered flat.
The way it worked out was shitty but I had told AD beforehand that I would take care of them, expecting at least 50-60 people through the door but other things in the area that night hurt the overall draw. As much as it sucks I'm not the type of dude to back out on a promise and didn't think it would end up so low, considering all the promotion I did. I didn't even make enough to cover the gas I spent putting up flyers around the city.
Note to self: If you book a show and then a month beforehand find out birthdays/graduations/other shows are preventing 40 people that you know would have come, maybe cancel next time.

s'all good. i wouldnt consider it backing out of a promise though if the cirumstances changed beyond your control.

True, but like I said when I booked them it was under the premise that they've drawn like 30 people everytime I've seen them, so I said I would be able to cover it. I guess Oasis is just too low-scale for the hoity toity Lucky Dog and Ralph's types.
Also, I should sing for them if their singer continues to show up but not bring his voice.
yeah their singer was definitely disappointing. He didn't hold ANY of the notes as long as he was supposed to, he got much more quiet when he was doing higher stuff, and their song selection was close to the EASIEST FNM set i could draw up... lame

Thanks buddy. I actually agree for once.. I usually get down on myself/us for little mistakes.. but watching the video, i think we nailed almost everything. Good feeling.

they've had better shows, everyone has a clunker every now and then. probably phoned in their performance because the crowd was lacking. not a good excuse but more than likely still the reason.
