I'm looking at getting a 2x10, and came across Avatar Cabinets. Has anyone ever played through these, or heard them? I've heard really good things, but never have actually played one personally. Any good?

I love the shit out my Earcandy 2x12. My friend has an Avatar 2x12 that is really nice, though. Sounds pretty great. I'm actually bringing my rig over to his place tonight to try out a 1970 SG I may be getting from him. I'll be AB'ing both cabs through my rig to compare the cabs while I'm there. I'd be shocked and offended if the Earcandy doesn't thoroughly cuckold the Avatar.

Solid cabs for the price, especially because you get to pick speakers. Are you thinking bass or guitar cab?

Heard nothing but good things about Avatar cabs.

That hippie from Sexcrement uses 2 for his bass rig, and they sound gnarly.

I have an Avatar 4x12 and an Earcandy 2x12. The Earcandy puts it to shame.

The Avatar is a decent enough cab, but it lacks projection.

I'm looking for a bass cab, should have put that in the first post

To be fair, you did say 2x10...we shouldn't be so dumb.

Hey now, Avatar has 2x10 guitar cabs....we're not bumd.

I'm bumd

this is a bass cab thread guys. silly guitarists.

i have the avatar 4x10 and 2x12 cabs, have had them for a couple years now. for the money they are absolutely killer (and lightweight - thanks eminence neos), and for the price i paid for them used they are even better. they can take frickin' anything i throw at them.

I've been DYING to order one of the 1000watt 4x12's for my trigger.... just need to save money!

toggletoggle post by neverpurified nli at Apr 11,2011 1:27pm
Running the trigger through the PA not good enough for you, Jim?

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Apr 11,2011 2:16pm
it just doesn't have enough kick... ya know? Just because i use a trigger doesn't mean i don't want it to SOUNG sort of like a bass drum, and most PAs just don't have the power i want.
I saw a drummer playing with a set of Vdrums, and while i don't hate them, i really prefer acoustic toms/snare... but the kick sounded MAGNIFICENT!!
