Just once I'd like to drive through a Mass Pike toll and not have the toll collector make an overhand swipe at my money that either knocks the quarter out of my hand, makes them drop it, or causes a not-so-wacky hot potato moment where we bobble it back and forth between eachother. I mean it's been what like 5 years since they raised the toll to $1.25. They know that extra quarter is coming. Why is their first inclination to snatch at the top of your dollar bill like a fat over-paid hawk snatching up $1.25 worth of field mouse. I've even tried folding the quarter in with the dollar, and beating them to the overhand position, so you think they'd HAVE to go underhand. Instead they just Hellen Keller the dollar out of your hand until the quarter falls out and you both look at eachother like "nigga I ain't pickin that up."

I'd also like to not be glared at, stared down, yelled at, or threatened for no reason by toll collectors. I won't bore anyone with a "these people make $70k+ a year wtf are they so miserable about" rant. But I'd also like someone to consider how often they have 50 cars trying to cram into 1 cash lane during rush hour because that's all they can afford to staff. I'd like them to not walk out in front of my car as I'm about to pull out. I'd like the one hot lady that works out near western mass to be the new hiring standard.

These are things that I'd like. Someone please make this happen.

Handling money often, I'd have to say that the error is trying to give them the quarter and dollar together. I hate when people do that. Hand them the change first, then the dollar. Problem solved, no rant needed.

i had a toll guy try to bitch me out for using pennies to cover my toll cost. last i checked pennies (while almost worthless now) are STILL a valid form of currency in this country. also the tolls are basically illegal anyways because the funds are being vastly misappropriated. fucking faggots.

if they'd adapt and turn their hand over the whole problem would be solved. quite frankly I don't think they have the attention span to make 2 separate transactions

I put mine on a cc. I only use my debit at stores, almost never online.

i meant "debit" as a verb - as in they automaticly withdrawl my account. i'm worried they with withdraw the wrong amount in a very untimely fashion and then i'll have to dispute the charge.

Yeah, I got an annoyed look from a lady at the Pike toll one time for paying with a 20 bill. She said snarkly, "don't you have anything smaller?"
1) If I had something smaller don't you think I would have given it to you already?

haha sometimes pay them with an off amount to just make them go through the effort of making proper change.

Example: For a Toll of $1.85 - I will give them a 5 dollar bill and and 37 cents.

I've never had a problem to date -- I've had EZPass for a few years now.

maybe i'll look into it. the other reason is that i usually bring tony into boston for practice and make him pay for tolls while I pay for gas. but he's getting a new whip soon so that might be cause for a new setup.

I haven't had problems so much with making change but I had 2 separate incidents where I really thought a toll collector was going to get out and punch me.

In one incident I held out my money and this gigantic black dude who looked like he was pissed way before I got there violently swiped at it, smacking both the dollar bill and change out of my hand. He stood there seriously fuming and glaring at me like I just canceled the Jeffersons. I told him don't look at me like I just did that, but it didn't make him any happier so I left.

Another time I was catching the death stare from this old white dude as I pulled up. I handed him a dollar, and then dug some change out of my center console. The whole exchange took about 10 seconds, but every time I looked over he was glaring at me all pissed off. I handed up the change, and he just kept getting madder and madder. I finally just shook my head not knowing what the fuck to make of this guy, and pulled out. As soon as I put my foot on the gas he comes running out of the booth. When I looked in the rear view mirror he was in the middle of the road screaming at me and shaking his fist in the air like he was Charles Bronson.
