That's right, this fantastic series of novels by George RR Martin has been turned into a tv series that's going to air in april of 2011. I guarantee that this will be awesomely epic. Great group of actors, good director, and the best script to be made into a tv series since the DUNE miniseries on SciFi.

The first couple episodes are really all about familiarizing yourself with all the different characters, and the situations surrounding them. The 3rd episode (last night) starts to build the tensions between the Starks and the Lannisters. As this series continues, it will get more and more difficult to not watch it right at 9pm when it first airs. |

Mostly everything that they've shown, they've shown for a reason. If you don't like it, don't watch it, but all the plot in the first 3 episodes has been integral to the storyline. |

Just watched the first episode. Seems cool so far. Tits everywhere, it's awesome. Some of these HBO shows go a bit too far in the direction of gratuitous shit happening all the time and go a bit light on the story (Rome) but the story for this has already been written and passed the test of time, so my hopes are high. The tits are just like gravy on the chocolate cake. |

I just watched the first 2 episodes myself, and I've got to say its a beautiful show, plot is all over the place but they're doing a good job of tying it together.

Loving this series as well. Some of the characters are not really how i portreyed them in the books but you can't have everything. I especially think Cersci is terrible. Shes too airy and worrisome, she should be more of a cold hearted cunt. Oh also sir robin sucking on a nasty tit of his mom in the Vale....ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww |

WHICH COMES OUT IN A COUPLE WEEKS!!! FUCK YEAH!
but yeah, i sort of like that style better... these novels are more "realistic" fantasy... by that i mean that the way people act/react is truer to the human condition... and the characters are all really believable. In that sense, why SHOULD each novel wrap up parts of the plot at the end? I know it makes an easier read, but fuck easy. This shit's elite. |

yeah, i watched up to the part where Ned Stark is sitting in the dark.... show is almost perfect, there are classic bits of fantasy with a totally realistic take on throne politics. succession crises are always solved by a royal guard! but the blacksmith kid and the Winterfell banners are some gambits up Stark's sleeve, and I can't underestimate his wife...Drogo, the coming winter, i admit i have no idea where this will go. |

Yeah, Feast for Crows wasn't terrible, but it started to turn into a clusterfuck with too many characters, and he started to cheap out on the character development. Also, I found it arrogant and annoying that the author addressed the reader directly at the end -- fuck off, don't talk to me, write.
From all the reviews I read, DWD (Book 5) was even worse from that aspect (discombobulated) -- from those reviews and your review, I'm definitely going to spend my time reading something else.
It's too bad, because the first 3 books really were excellent.

DwD gets cool towards the end and some pretty major shit happens...but the first 1/2-3/4 of the book just seems to drag with no major events taking place and too many chapters on random characters you dont really give a shit about. |
