Season of Mist is proud to welcome melodic dark metallers OMMATIDIA to the roster. Although the band's name might not ring a bell, OMMATIDIA is no newcomer, especially to the Season of Mist family: this new band was created by former THE OLD DEAD TREE members Nicolas Chevrollier (guitar) and Vincent Danhier (bass). Welcome back, guys!

Nicolas and Vincent comment: "We have already enjoyed working together with Season of Mist for the three albums of The Old Dead Tree. We are therefore delighted to launch a new partnership for Ommatidia with the whole label crew that we appreciate on both professional and human sides! We fully trust them for giving us the opportunity to benefit from a real international promotion & distribution, among all the great bands on their roster."

"We're very enthusiastic about this first deal for Ommatidia", singer Guillaume adds. "We strongly believe in the support of Season of Mist and in the opportunity to work with a record company managed by passionate people. Our goal is clearly to give all the best chance possible to our music and signing with Season of Mist is probably the best start we could dream of."

Ommatidia

OMMATIDIA's debut "In this Life, or the Next" was recorded at Tour Fine Studio and mastered by Jens Bogren (Paradise Lost, Opeth, Katatonia, Soilwork...). The album has been scheduled for a March 21st, 2011 release.

i can't find their music anywhere and there's no songs on the myspace. i've been looking around for recorded evidence of this band for a couple weeks because i liked the old dead tree.
