Voodoo zombies. The most under-rated zombie type of them all. They aren't fast, they aren't slow, they aren't even dead. The voodoo zombie is your claustrophobic nightmare of being considered dead by your family and friends, buried 6 feet in the earth, and aware of every scoop of the shovel. Wes Craven has crafted what is quite possibly the most horrifying film of it's kind. THE SERPENT AND THE RAINBOW is an evil spell of movie, with each ingredient carefully selected, bled, and utilized in the proper portions. Bill Pullman is the ultimate dead man walking in this tale of voodoo sorcery. You won't be able to miss this one...no really, you won't.
dir. Wes Craven, w/ Bill Pullman, Cathy Tyson, 1h38m, 35mm
