traitor.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 31,2010 1:27pm
funny, I'm on sprint... my bill went from $55 to $96... some how. I need to call to change that.

toggletoggle post by RustyPS should be working at Aug 31,2010 1:39pm
I'm paying the same on Verizon...UZ GETN ROBBED

anyways, the apps I use pretty much all the time:

1) Advanced Task Killer
2) Jewels (same thing as Bejeweled)
3) Fantasy Guru (for Yahoo Fantasy Football)
4) WordUp! (same thing as Boggle)
5) XiiaLive (finds most online radio streams, including some satellite radio streams)
6) WEEI Live (even though this app sucks - once you try to do something else, the app lets go of the stream)
7) Engadget (the widget is awesome)
8) ESPN ScoreCenter
9) HomePipe (access files off of your PCs)
10) DropBox
11) RSS WidgetBoard (amkes widgets of any RSS feed you want)
12) Air Horn (a must)
13) LED Light (create a widget that you click on to turn the LED on or off to use as a flashlight)
14) NFL Mobile (live, streaming NFL Network, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?)
15) last.fm (syncs with your last.fm account, and the widget will play your station with one click)

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 31,2010 1:47pm
wow... dropbox is the only one there that I want. though I will probably install engadget and see what homepipe is.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 31,2010 1:48pm
I'm also probably going to get the $4.99 sprite app to autoback up in the mornings.

toggletoggle post by RustyPS should be working at Aug 31,2010 1:56pm
AIR HORN IS A MUST HAVE..... [FONT=XXLARGE]A MUST HAVE

toggletoggle post by RustyPS should be working at Aug 31,2010 1:56pm
tag didn't work....ghey

toggletoggle post by Pires at Aug 31,2010 2:09pm
The EEI thing is the same for iPhone. Can't do run in the background. It did when it first debuted( if I remember correctly) but since the updates, it now has to run on it's own. It's also on a delay from the radio station(yeah, I'm nerdy like that)

toggletoggle post by RustyPS should be working at Aug 31,2010 2:11pm
on Android, it initially would not show that it was running on the top bar, but now it does....but if you press the back button instead of the home button to get out of it the stream gets killed altogether....so annoying

On my rooted droidX

1)Titanium Backup (can freeze the bloatware apps from running, backup all apps and move to sd card)
2)Launcher Pro + Home Switcher (better than the stock droidX UI and seems faster)
3)Metal Archives
4)Nesoid (nes emulator)
5)robodefense
6)pandora
7)shopsavy (shopping/barcode scanner, can be used to scan barcodes and download apps on appbrain.com)
8)Car Dock (replaces the stock cardock app, lets you pick which applications you want on the screen when docked)
9)Uninstaller (quickly remove apps)

The Log me in app looks useful but I don't feel like paying $30 for it.

toggletoggle post by RustyPS should be working at Aug 31,2010 3:01pm
I need a car dock for my Droid, since it has turned into my go-to GPS

toggletoggle post by TIMMA at Aug 31,2010 3:07pm
Dolphin HD Browser > Stock browser

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 31,2010 3:48pm
you are just saying that cause you friggin love dolphins

toggletoggle post by TIMMA at Aug 31,2010 3:52pm
Obviously. They're like water dogs that don't have hair and taste good in tuna.

toggletoggle post by menstrual_sweatpants_disco   at Aug 31,2010 3:53pm
I've had my Droid X for like 4 days now. Aside from the usual shit that everybody downloads I've been using:

eBuddy (downloaded a few AIM apps to test, still checking this one out)
Notes (so's I can writes shit down)
Advanced Task Killer
Google Voice
WYSE (RDP / terminal server client)

I've just began to screw with this thing. I've read about Astro file manager though, that's coming next. Along with a backup app of some sort.

toggletoggle post by choices choices... at Aug 31,2010 3:54pm
Dolphin hd
Task killer
Gstrings guitar tuner

toggletoggle post by menstrual_sweatpants_disco   at Aug 31,2010 4:13pm
I forgot to mention Airhorn. I made sure that was the first App I downloaded.

toggletoggle post by menstrual_sweatpants_disco   at Aug 31,2010 4:22pm
I need a replacement calendar. The stock one sucks. I'm guessing it's a motorola app that's specific to the droid x. Haven't looked into it yet aside from doing a brief search for a calendar app on the marketplace. Anybody have any suggestions?

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Aug 31,2010 4:29pm
Wolfenstein.

toggletoggle post by dertoxia   at Aug 31,2010 6:44pm
I like all the soundboards. I probably have 10 or 15 of em on my phone. The Tourettes Guy one is the best to just whip out randomly during conversations.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 31,2010 11:50pm
6) ConnectBot
7) Google Sky
8) Google Voice
9) Googe Maps (update)
10) Google Earth

toggletoggle post by ArrowHeadNLI at Sep 1,2010 12:12am
I try to download everything with a GOOGLE in front of it, because they all integrate so well. i.e. - google goggles, google maps, google skymap, google nav, google places, google translate, etc........

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 1,2010 12:28am
are there any good free strategy games?

toggletoggle post by BOTG at Sep 1,2010 6:50am
Nobody mentioned sound grenade? Seriously...get it.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 1,2010 4:46pm
11) google goggles
12) Evernote
13) last.fm

toggletoggle post by ArrowHeadNLI at Sep 1,2010 4:57pm
Also,

Gstrings tuner
Mobile Metronome
Easy Note
Photobucket
express news (better than the built in news widget, imo)
Easy Tether (free usb tethering)
Mojo Nes (NES emulator - $1)
Amazon Kindle (free kindle reader)
Pandora

I think that's all the good ones I can think of.

toggletoggle post by bleakgrimlordgreyfrostx at Sep 1,2010 5:22pm
Grim screen (locks the screen so it stays black)

toggletoggle post by menstrual_sweatpants_disco   at Sep 2,2010 10:26am
I've been checking out everything mentioned in this thread.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 2,2010 10:28am
14) Opera Mini - this is THE best browser for text.rttp. all the other browsers suck cause of zooming. The one problem with Opera Mini is the clicking of the "Qik Reply" button.

Just got a Droid Incredible today after my sweet sweet cherry Chocolate died.

What are essential apps should I start with?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 2,2010 7:16pm
hm.. it's too bad there isn't a thread about that.

toggletoggle post by Doomkid   at Sep 2,2010 7:29pm edited Sep 2,2010 7:29pm
Let me rephrase:

What is it absolutely essential for someone retarded with electronics but likes spiffy shit? (because a list of names means little to me)

toggletoggle post by Doomkid   at Sep 2,2010 7:31pm
Also, is there a way to create ringtones from audio files easily?

toggletoggle post by Doomkid   at Sep 2,2010 7:36pm
Actually Rev, could you give me the name of the creator of your apps in the OP, there's many versions it seems.

Ringdroid app...BOOYA

toggletoggle post by Doomkid   at Sep 2,2010 7:46pm
Rusty, always so helpful.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 2,2010 10:12pm
ritesh sahu or something like that is the backup & restore programmer.

the best thing is that the language used to program the apps in is the same basic language ive been developing in for 15 years. so im going to start developing when i get som free time.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2010 10:50am
ok, there is no centralized "notifications and sounds" area... you have to go into each app and set it up for each app.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2010 12:36pm
15) fancy widget
16) ringdroid
17) Android Agenda

toggletoggle post by menstrual_sweatpants_disco   at Sep 3,2010 1:41pm
1) Fecal Health Monitor by wigidesign
2) Playground Locator by Funzone

toggletoggle post by Doomkid   at Sep 3,2010 2:22pm
1) Zombies, Run! (this game is pretty cool, it uses your GPS and google maps to have "zombies" chase you to a safehouse that is a location in actual space)

GOOGLE MAPS IS PRETTY AWESOME.

I JUST FOUND A COOL NEW ONE CALLED BARCODE SCANNER. IT'S GREAT, I CAN GO TO BEST BUY AND SCAN THEIR OVERPRICED SHIT AND IT GIVES ME A WEBPAGE WITH BULLSHIT REVIEWS TO CONVINCE ME TO BUY IT ANYWAY.

BACK IN THE DAY, THEY NEEDED TO HIRE SALESMEN TO BLOW SMOKE UP MY ASS AND TREAT ME LIKE A RETARD. NOW THEY MAKE MY PHONE DO ALL THE WORK FOR THEM.

toggletoggle post by Alx_Casket  at Aug 3,2012 11:18am
I got firefox a little while ago but I'm still used to the default browser. Sync is cool, but I already had all my bookmarks set up on the default, so meh.
