No such thing as a triangle.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Aug 18,2010 12:28am
triangles have been around since the invention of tanks in the first World War

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Aug 18,2010 8:05am
I thought tanks were only xbox fiction?? You mean to say that our military has that kind of technology?

I've always wondered if you actually believed in the paranormal, aril.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Aug 18,2010 8:27am
Depends what you're talking about. Ive been reading about the paranormal for most of my life and also experienced a few things first-hand. I could write a long thread on it but no one really cares too much, nor do I about posting it. It's more of a conversation to be had over a beer or two

Perhaps, but I'll voice my opinion anyway. Belief in the supernatural is equivalent to belief in a god.

Though it would be so fucking awesome if ghosts existed.

I have seen many paranormal activities in my life, but strangely only when I am impaired in one way or another. The mystery deepens.

You are mistaken, though that is a pure atheistic outlook, which I respect. I don't believe in god per se, but if you've ever dabbled into the occult and/or experimented with meditation, you would know there's more than what we perceive to be reality; whether it be multi-dimensional occurances, subconscious empowerment, or the so-called energy force which is prevelant on this plane of existence. Ghosts? I've always had a hard time beliving in apparitions, as I've never really experienced one first-hand. There's more to supernatural than ghosts.
I'd like to think nothing matters and we exist out of science and precise mathematical happenings over the last millions of years (which is true), but one must remember that we do not know our potentional as humans, nor do we even care to tap into what's there.
So to put it bluntly, there is no all-powerful god as abrahamic religions state (they're fictional astological representations which have been twisted and manipulated through the centuries) but we have the ability to tap into our subconscious and unlock knowledge which has been forbidden for ages.
I was an atheist for many years, but now I at least accept some paranormal theories due to the sole reason of us not knowing jack shit about our universe and ourselves.

Tl;dr

i understand why you'd equate the two, to believe in one spirit would essentially mean you believe in all spirits. I do not believe in one iota of any god, but i know what i've seen whilst hunting for the supernatural.

my love for all things ghosts has significantly diminished over the years, i used to be really into exploring "haunted" places with photography and videotaping. I knew the chances of actually seeing something were practically non-existent, but it was still really interesting and fun to do. But after Ghost Hunters made every faggot that got a "funny feeling" think they were a ghost hunter, and after sifting through thousands of garbage stories and photos online for that one gem, i became disenchanted with it. i would love to get back into it though, only for personal enjoyment. so in short, yes Jim, i still want to go do faggot rituals in the Hockomock Swamp.
