Did Saco River in Maine a couple years back after a flood, during a surprise buttsex hailstorm...leisurely stroll down the river turned into a nightmare. Saw raft parties lose ALL their gear and get stranded (car keys and all) and we almost lost our canoe. Heroic effort from everyone involved to stay on course and keep our gear! Great time, need to go back...hopefully your trip is less struggle and more drunk.

I do the Saco every year with my band and friends. Always epic, even last year when the early season rains birthed a biblical swarm of mosquitoes.

Sounds fun. Why is it the "Bass" River Resort and they don't mention fishing of any type on that site? I literally can't be floating on water without wetting a line (duck/goose season exempted from this statements because shotgun replaces fishing rod nicely).

Regardless, sounds like a good time.

It's called Bass River cuz the family that owns it is named Bass.

100 jello shots, beer bongs, tons of beer, lemon shake up (vodka, sugar, and lemons with ice in a gallon jug). It was a great time, Friday night I got so drunk, I blacked out and came to down near the shallow part of the river/creek that ran behind our campsite. Kind of scary in hindsight, I totally could have drowned. About 2 am it got really windy and the temp dropped, then huge thunder and crazy lightning rolled through. I drunkenly tried to put the out cover on our tent and mostly succeeded, just missed a lower tie down so a little bit of rain got in, not bad though. Woke up at 730, out on the river floating around 11am, and floated till 4. Holy shit was that a long time. It was awesome though, hopefully this will be an annual tradition, this was our second year. I put pics up on my facebook page

A lot of my friends do Saco. My cousin usually does a camping trip to his dad's place on the amonoosuc river for 4th of July if he's not travelling the world.
