lawl its legal if u buy os x

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 12,2010 4:13pm
I'm typing this on a D620. If I hackintoshed, i would do a netbook so it's tiny.

I would love a VM to develop on. how do you get a macox vm? I have access to vms.

toggletoggle post by ark at May 12,2010 4:24pm
we use VMWare Fusion for virtualization FROM OSX (ie Windows running on mac) which is awesome, but you want mac running on windows, i've heard people having success following this guide

http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Vmware_how_to

it uses VMWare Server for Windows which is free now i guess?
better than buying Mac hardware.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 12,2010 4:25pm
I use VMWare server all the time.

toggletoggle post by ark at May 12,2010 4:29pm
then do it, and report all failures.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 12,2010 4:30pm
I really hate what VMS does to your machine now. version 3 ruled for me. v4 had a lot of promise. v5 is awesome for automation cause of the web interface and APIs that we control through reflection calls from a database. I used v3 to build knoppix for my work. v4, I used for running from a lab that you could log into from the outside world.

u can dual boot your d620 also... vmware is the easiest solution if its just for testing but grub and os x86 is a possibility

VMware player image is the fastest way.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 13,2010 10:58am
conservationist, I need the actual image.

@alex: I don't think I can do that cause this is a work image.

OSX for $30?

yeah the mac osx is 30 you can install it on any cpu capible running osx if you go into an apple store they'd try to sell you the box sex with iwork and ilife saying it wont work otherwise but that is a lie. also if you end up buying one, you could talk to me or talk to a business guy and they'd set you up with an account which means discounts all the time and you can buy more than two ipads...
