Heard about this many times throughout the years. Not sure of the accuracy of this but I'm not totally comfortable with the idea.

This is what scares me: "there’s one problem. His name is Ron Howard. Ron is a fine choice if you’re looking for sappy, schmaltzy Oscar-bait but it’s hard to imagine him tackling the darker, more horrific elements of The Dark Tower with any success."

The Dark Tower is not Lord of The Rings style fantasy, it is horror at it's core. Turning a 7-book horror/fantasy epic into a watered down PG-13 trilogy would be a huge disappointment. That being said, I would still be there opening night in hopes that Howard did it right.

I'd be there as well but have the same concerns. I had read before that the guys who do Lost were gonna do this, which would make sense since they are huge King fans and a lot of the character in Lost are loosely based on the characters from The Stand.

Yeah I remember reading that too, but it says at the end of this article that deal fell through, bummer. I would much rather see this in JJ Abrams' hands.

YEah, JJ Abrams was behind it for a while but had to back out for whatever reason...now I'm a little concerned. I wish they made it 20 years ago with Clint Eastwood directing and acting in it.

if they ruin this i'm gonna stab people. this is my favorite book series of all time. grrrrr.

they're going to KILL this. There's no way they can make it work in one pg13 movie, it's totally impossible.

I feel like each book would need at least three hours movie time to approach any semblance of doing the books justice. I'm with ya Boxxy. I think it's gonna be three movies but your point is duly noted. This is my favorite series too. Would like to see what they do with the doorkeeper from that house in the Wastelands.

the naked gunfight in the office scene alone needs 30 mins in and is one of the most graphicly violent things i've ever read. fuckkk.
