free music brings more profit to more bands than if they were exclusively purchase only. How many bands would you buy an album from if you didn't dl it online first? How many bands would you have discovered without free music?

I would suggest everyone to stop using soulseek. Srsly. That shit is now like limewire.

Right now the best thing are the blogspots that post dl links to rapidshare, megaupload, etc. Until these file sharing pages are shut down or limited, keep using them while they last.

The best and safest way in the old days was IRC-chat based file sharing rooms. They were fast and easy. Now they are dying.
Direct connect was good for metal. There's still a bunch of hubs out there sharing files. I used to be an admin on a black metal one but I stopped caring and don't know of it exists anymore.

Audiogalaxy was one of the best but that's gone now. Napster is back but I don't know how it is now.

Stick with the blogspots until (if) something happens to the file sharing pages.

All I've seen it do is force blogs to switch off of rapidshare.

Just use Google to search for "bandname discography torrent" and use a proxy when you download. Or if you can, get an invite to a private torrent site.
