it's so good... a new bass player is exactly what that band needed.

toggletoggle post by Sacreligion at Mar 22,2010 2:15am
This is easily the only album I've waited to buy and listen to in 10 years.

toggletoggle post by Sacreligion at Mar 22,2010 2:17am
The first two songs they have released are pretty shagtacular though.

Finally, I can get laid. It's been way too long.

Hah, man love on chino..

On youtube right now can listen to the entire record. I would hurry as they will no doubt be pulled within a couple days. I dig the tracks I heard. I can't really compare it to anything else they've done which is a good thing. Pretty rockin.

haha awesome..

Confession: I really did like their first two records (Adrenaline and Around the Fur) and i listened to them both for years. I went to a deftones show at Babyhead (now club hell) with Orange 9mm, and they were great, but i really couldn't hear his vocals THAT clearly. Then when i saw them at the old lupos (around the fur) i realized that chino MUST use an autotuner on the record. He's got to, there is no way someone can sound that good on cd, and that BAD live. Like terrible, like he can't come close to hitting the notes on the record he had JUST recorded. This makes me mad. It's like lip syncing.

It really depends on when you see them . I have been to some great deftones shows and a few terrible sets. too drunk to perform at some

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Mar 22,2010 11:03am
This kid I used to work with described the deftones as "whispering over generic guitar riffs"

toggletoggle post by arktouros at Mar 22,2010 11:07am
i really like that song "Passenger" but the rest i can do without.

toggletoggle post by The_Rooster  at Mar 22,2010 11:15am
I don't understand the hate for these guys. I seriously get more shit for listening to the Deftones than I do for any other band. I listen to some fucking lame shit too! hahaha.

Disagree. Che is sick. It was out of necessity.

Listening now. Will post my irrelevant opinions soon, but I dig the 1st track so far.

I've seen them around 10 times. And yes, i've seen them too drunk to preform too. But i dare you to find a live recording from ANYTIME when chino hits the high notes correctly in Bored. Or even newer stuff. He just can't do it, and he never could.

that doesn't mean i don't love those records. I don't really listen to them anymore, but i still love em.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Mar 22,2010 1:25pm
they are one of the first live bands i saw in my early show days. i saw them open for Pantera and White Zombie. i don't remember them, but i wasn't into them then, and i'm still not. i had Around the Fur and Adrenaline, and i hated both of them. i'll never understand the interest in this band, it is just whispering over generic guitar riffs.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Mar 22,2010 1:44pm
i love most of their studio recordings but everytime i've seen them live it was horrendous. chinos vocals were especially sloppy and i think he was hammered both times i saw them.

Last time I saw them they were kinda sober and he didn't have any problem with the high notes. If anything his rhythm gets all heroined out.

toggletoggle post by The_Rooster  at Mar 22,2010 1:59pm
The only time I've seen them, Chino was a fucking mess. Literally falling down drunk.

Haha, I saw that show. They were awful, but I always hated the older stuff. We got to see them instead of Eyehategod right in time for the MA date.

toggletoggle post by MillenialKingdom  at Mar 22,2010 4:24pm
I've always liked them, even if they were accused of being nu-metal. Saturday Night Wrist is easily my favorite album from them with White Pony right behind it. Chino isn't the best vocalist but his style works for the music they write. Who cares.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Mar 22,2010 4:26pm
I don't hate them but I don't like them. They just never did anything for me. Honestly, I've never understood why people get hard over this band.

toggletoggle post by blue  at Mar 22,2010 4:50pm
This just in: best album they've ever done. Like every album.

toggletoggle post by Pires at Mar 22,2010 4:53pm
No complaints. Love everything they have ever done. Still haven't heard this one, but I know it won't disappoint.

i personally never liked the vocals he did, not to say he was a bad for the

band or a bad player, i just think that dude from quicksand rules. Also, Che

cant carry it by himself like this dude does.

i remember that show at babyhead, they covered weezer. i agree, the show was great, but chino suuuucks live. looking back on it, i think that show is why i never bought any records after the first one, i've never even heard them.

Why? I've never had any problems with it and find everything I'm looking for.

toggletoggle post by blue  at Mar 22,2010 8:24pm
i definitely still use soulseek. is it like the myspace of file sharing or something?

toggletoggle post by MillenialKingdom  at Mar 22,2010 9:12pm
I didn't think it was obsolete. Then again, it's never been the cutting edge in file sharing.

toggletoggle post by BlackoutRick at Mar 22,2010 9:21pm
8 string played slowly. I'm diggin it. title track is best.

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Mar 25,2010 12:26pm
yea this album has some of the heaviest 8-string shit i've heard thus far...

toggletoggle post by MillenialKingdom  at Mar 25,2010 1:27pm
Listening to the whole thing right now. Absolutely loving this.

toggletoggle post by Jeff_met_aliens at Mar 26,2010 10:08am
will have to listen to it a few more times. I really like the album but I don't love it. They stick to a formula for most of the album. It's a good formula, I just like a little variety.

toggletoggle post by BlackoutRick at Mar 26,2010 10:21am
Like it a lot. Diamond Eyes is in my head.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Mar 26,2010 11:45am
I don't understand how the deftones can be sooo heavy but yet so mellow and relaxing at the same time

toggletoggle post by blue  at Mar 26,2010 12:10pm
They are the metal version of my bloody valentine.
