Will there be opening acts? If so could you put Cold Northern Vengeance on the bill... We have played with Nachtmystium 3 times and they are friends of ours.

I've seen them a handful of times with various lineups and never really got into it either.

Really? Well I must suck at paying attention then. I could swear I've seen them as both a three piece and a four piece and that they've supposedly gotten new people.

they did play as a 3-piece for a while, but no one has left the band...andrea's been with them almost the whole time. way early on, they had a different name and a different bassist and no vocals, but that was probably 5 years ago now.

i think they were a 2 piece and it was called "midnight prayers" or something to that effect

They were called Late Night Prayers. I remember seeing them at Fancy Fest 2005 too. I think they were the first band to play the whole thing.

At first I was gonna miss this tour because we are touring at the same time but then I found out we're playing with EHG in Chicago.

No... we were removed from the gig because we refused to sign a legal and binding contract for the douchebage promoter Dave Southworth to sell tickets so he can line his pockets and not have to promote the gig properly... Glad I could clear that up

If a signed contract is involved, don't you think it would be wise to receive said contract BEFORE giving bands tickets? New England Concerts=clown shoes.

This fits perfectly with what i've heard about new england concerts. There's something fishy about bands dropping off of a show with Eye Hate God. I mean, who in their right mind would do that? Unless there's scum-bagedry afoot.

Cold Northern Vengeance dropped off the show because after i sent him 45 tickets valued at $810.00 that he agreed he could sell ( I did not force him into anything ) he decided to back out because i wanted him to sign something that made him liable for the tickets. This was about a month ago, I have yet to receive my tickets back...Something that i am sure is intentional.

Sexcrement dropped off the show because of their past relationship with the person that owns New England Concerts.

I dont force anyone to ever sell tickets, This is not a pay to play show. If a band is not willing to help promote and make the show profitable than I am not willing to give them a spot on the show. I as well am selling tickets in Manchester and online and have been doing so for the past several weeks.

I agree that it is the promoters responsibility to be accountable for the show and make it succesful but at the same time i have a choice as to who I can book, And I will only work with bands that share the same feeling as I do.

Semantics. It doesn't matter if you don't call it a pay to play show, requiring them to "share the same feeling you do" (selling tickets) makes the show pay to play. Bottom line. No matter what you say in between, the end result is that if bands don't agree to sell tickets, they will not be on one of these shows.

I happen to think selling tickets is acceptable for certain situations, this could probably be considered one of them. But having an opening band sell 45 tickets valued at 810 dollars is out of control. How can you justify that many tickets? Tell me, what's the capacity for the Rocko's? I'm gonna say 250, which we KNOW is really high. If the opening bands are gonna tell 180 tickets between them, then does the promoter REALLY do any work? Doesn't sound like it to me.

This is a great show lineup, but for the 100th time in this thread, for a Tuesday night show, 5 bands is a fucking festival. People aren't going to stick around for any more, nor does it mean that they will pay 5 bucks added to the ticket price for each band on the bill. Giving tickets to a band to sell is a promoter stunt to delegate work, and making them sign a contract is making the band work for you. I don't think you're getting any tickets back buddy.

I also think that tickets sales aren't inherently unfair. But i think it should be reasonable. Totally separate from that, if two more bands get added to this, it will be just too much for a weeknight, and it will end up that these locals have to work their butts of selling tickets just to play 3 hours before touring bands, and have a very select few see them.

I really do think selling tickets could be awesome, and that bands would be really into it, if they were actually getting a slot worth selling tickets for. I know for a fact that there have been shows at Rocko's that we would have sold tickets for, and that's the way it is. But just be careful how much you ask 4 locals to do to play on a Tuesday night.

I actually asked CNV how many they would be willing to sell and he said 45. So thats what we were under the impression that he could sell.

The thing is I asked him several times if this was something he could do and everytime it was a yes. I would never give a show to someone if they were hesitant on selling the tickets.

Rocko's capacity is 400.

Say what you will, It is pay to play if the band sells no tickets. All they have to do is ask their fans to purchase a presale ticket and avoid service charges, it also helps the show become more succesful.

And since I am the one that's financing the event, it is my right to have them " share the same feeling" .

Dave Southworth is a nice man. Hes done an amazing job in NH for bands. We've played countless shows at Rocko's in the last 18 months and not once have we payed out of pocket. Yes there have been some shows that did not run well, but in all Dave and his company by far are the best in NH.
Selling tickets is not always fun, but it gets people to the show and thats all they want to do. No one wants to play to an empty venue.
We have played the shows without ticket commitments before and honestly we would prefer the ones where are asked to sell because we know people will be there.

this is why the boston scene absolutely fails..
too many egos, too many suckoff fanboys, too many shitwad venues and not enough level headed people
