Well that was pointless.

OSNAP. That was awesome.

"What speed is it?"
"I don't know."

oof.

that motherfucker housed those bitches. also i think im going into professional photography now... 1300 bucks for taking pictures? really?

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Mar 3,2010 7:49pm
weddings, more work than you think...think about it.

toggletoggle post by Hoser at Mar 3,2010 8:17pm
I paid $700 and ours were perfect. Any more than that and some picture snapping dillhole is just ripping you off. They get free food, free drinks, a TIT job ( a wait...let me look through a lens, click a button 400 times and get paid $1300.) Lick my ass, it's not work at all, that's why they do it for a living. Talk to some poor schmuck who runs a jackhammer, or logs for a living 8 hours a day and I'll show you about 3,000,000 guys who can not only eat your head for lunch, but actually WORK in order to feed their families.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2010 8:22pm
wow... he ruled on that bitch, but seriously those pictures don't look that bad there. I didn't see any of the pictures from the inside of the wedding.

hahahah Jake. You're basically saying that someone who does a mindless job like running a jackhammer is entitled to make more merely because it's physical labor rather than the someones creative/artistic value or technical knowledge in a particular field (i.e. computer science, ect.). It's totally okay for you to feel that way because there are always going to be people that know what good photography is and pay top dollar for it...Bill Gates is still going to be the richest man in the world despite never having laid a hand on a log or a jackhammer.

The 'photographer' in this video has no idea what she's talking about shouldn't even be at the level of charging $1300, maybe $300 at most. Sadly, a lot of people like you do not know what good photography IS and get ripped off in the end. Some people probably don't even realize it. Similar to people who only listen to music on the radio and have no idea what good music is.

...and I'd like to see your wedding photos, just to see what $700 got you.

Are you serious? Those photos looked pretty horrible. I can only imagine what the indoor photos looked like.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2010 9:40pm
I thought only mexicans did work like that sa

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Mar 3,2010 9:42pm
p.s. I'd like to know what wedding photographer has time to eat and drink while covering a wedding? I certainly wouldn't unless I was forced or at least had an assistant.

They are washed out and look like they were done with an all-in-one Costco camera. FR SERIOUS AARON!?!?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2010 9:51pm
not a single image that he showed the camera was washed out.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2010 9:51pm
also, he didn't show any images from inside the wedding.

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Mar 3,2010 9:58pm
A better word for the photos he did show, amateurish for someone who claims to have shot hundreds of weddings! Even more so if the photos were poor quality even at a small size.

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Mar 3,2010 10:29pm
The photos that were shown were photos that the photographer brought in, like 5...a few of which look like snapshots taken with popup on-camera flash. Looks like one shot they showed was indoors and their eyes had no catch lights (i.e. they look dead). The shot of them standing next to a tree looks passable at best but the bride looks almost black (underexposed).

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2010 11:20pm
my screen must make things look better than they are. the only one that sucked was the one with the dress fanned out.

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Mar 3,2010 11:27pm
rev = easy photo critiquer

"The photo is exposed properly, great photo!"

hahahahah

uh yeah, of course the selective coloring shot automatically wins shittiest photo.

Joe Brown is on Havoc TV on demand

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2010 11:42pm
This is obviously not a real court cause with the pictures that they showed, I don't believe that the photographers are guilty of anything more than being complete bitches who knew nothing. If they were, they should have shown the shittiest pictures and not the best.

Also, you don't need to be an expert at gear to be an excellent photographer. my example is pia who takes some frustratingly awesome photos, but has really not clue about her gear. I do question the gear that they brought and the arguments they made, but a good photographer could work with that equipment.

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Mar 4,2010 12:24am
Obviously the photographers aren't going to bring in any of the shittiest photos (though the ones they did show looked below average in composition & lighting, and I'm not even a wedding photographer), plus he points out that they're shitty quality prints which you probably can't tell without seeing it in person.

I'm sorry but Pia knows what an f-stop/how fast her lens is on top of creative use of composition/color unlike the fools in this video.

why are you sorry that pia knows that stuff? seems like something out of your control.

That's an awful lot of photo work for 2 people who'll be divorced in a year.

Here he is, dude. He's a friend, and if you don't quite know who he really is...google him.

Here's some of his stuff. World class.

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Mar 13,2010 12:25am
oh, I know David, I've assisted him a few times, he's great! didn't know he shot any weddings though. He's more specialized in commercial/abstract work which is probably why he didn't charge much for doing your wedding, plus if you got the brodown discount.

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Mar 13,2010 12:30am
p.s. according to what you were saying you still wouldn't consider what David does as being actual work, no?

toggletoggle post by Hoser at Mar 14,2010 9:40am
Well, I probably put my foot in my mouth on that one. Dave is a very close personal friend of me and my family, and I have seen the hours that he puts into his work. Yes, he works really hard. I guess that I was getting at the fact that many "wedding" photographers are hacks and click a few pics and get paid big bucks.

toggletoggle post by Hoser at Mar 14,2010 9:41am
Sorry about that. Yeah, Dave is very professional, a great friend, and busts his ass as a photographer and graphic designer.

toggletoggle post by Hoser at Mar 14,2010 9:42am
His INCREDIBLY beautiful assistant, Kate...was also at my wedding taking shots.
