I don't usually miss NC but when it comes to these DRI weekends, I do. Look at how much kick ass there is on the Raleigh show.

Given the choice of seeing a DRI show where the openers are a crossover thrash band in similar vein of DRI, one of the best early 80s style hc bands around right now (comprised of old dudes no less) and a punk 'n' roll band compared to a show where all the openers are clean cut broish bands and street punk, the choice is pretty obvious given my tastes.

Of course I am. I like WIC a lot and I think they never get the response that they deserve. that band should be packing the house more when they play. Plus, their songs are catchy as hell.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 28,2010 8:03pm
the trash killers just played. funny lyri,al content. rich needs to book them, the paraplegics, reason to fight, ans a couple others on one of his party boat machines.

the show is doing pretty good thusfar. seeing this many people this early in pvd is weird. there was a line around the block when i got here.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 28,2010 8:37pm
best sounding drums i have ever heard from reason to fight. the set started off the fun and got people moving. they ended with a cover of hardtimes which is awesome and cock blocks other bands from doing the same.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 28,2010 9:15pm
epic POW set. people were drunk all over the stage. the crowd looks prime for DRI. this was suppose to be a split COA/POW set, but colin wasnt allowed in. looks like they are cooking something up with a COA set now.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 28,2010 9:22pm
ok.. they set up quickly by hopping on the POW's (most reason to fight's) gear and did 2 songs. this was more like OA instead of COA since they didnt have colin. just about everyone in the audience somehow got the mic.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 28,2010 10:07pm
there were a ton of for the worse tracks i didnt know. might have been cause they were new. i got used to the same 15 songs every show for 5 years. idk if i snapped a shot of the setlist, but they didnt stick to it. watching the crowd for FTW, i really hope they are like that for WIC (who are setting up now). the crowd was rowdy for them. place is packed to the point of me just staying on the stage.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 28,2010 10:52pm
perfect wisdom in chains set. the entire crowd seemed to know their songs. at the end, they stopped and ended up playing 2 more songs. the last, fighting in the streets, ended with people fighting on the stage. silly humans.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 28,2010 11:12pm
their setlist is 37 songs long if im not mistaken.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2010 12:48am
dri got cut a few songs short...

toggletoggle post by Pires at Mar 1,2010 12:53am
How can they not let a band member in?

toggletoggle post by keynotecompany nli at Mar 1,2010 2:26am
Awesome show.
I think besides the Verse 5 Year Anniversary show that's the biggest crowd I've seen there.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2010 3:20am
yes, that ruled

I've been planning to ever since DYA posted about them. I get The Paraplegics with them, but isn't Reason To Fight just straight up Sick of It All worship?

they don't jump at all. I hear more madball/sheer terror, but I also don't listen to too much sick of it all cause i'm a poser.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Mar 1,2010 10:57am
The two times I saw them all I heard was SOIA and I'm right and you're wrong.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2010 10:59am
If you listen to them you don't hear a single synchronized jump. Synchronized jumping is essential for any sick of it all song.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Mar 1,2010 11:01am
Your face is essential for any Morrissey song.

Why wasn't Colin allowed in the club?

toggletoggle post by patrick at Mar 1,2010 2:42pm
I know why Colin wasn't allowed in... its a sore subject ...... shhhhhhh

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Mar 1,2010 2:43pm

people at kreator were talking about how good this show was.

For the love of god, I hope at least one of these DRI shows has a lineup I would actually be willing to suffer through.

we played with them in Raleigh in '96 I still have their shirt with all the drugs on it.
