yo blue.
you've seen that big piece o shit acoustic cab i got... i don't think it works right... or i don't have the right equipment to hook it up. it doesn't seem like it puts out much sound... my 1x12 peavey combo blows it away.
i did some research and found out that a lot of those old acoustic cabs are wired for two ohms, but some are wired for four. i am a bone head about this kind of stuff. can you (or anyone really) drop some knowledge on me that might help me figure out what i've got as far as being two or four ohms? and if possible, how to switch it from two to four?

if it turns out that nothing will make this cab work with what i've got, i'm going to plug up the 1/4 inch jack on the back and sail this thing up and down the merrimack river

the 2x15 is more than likely 2 ohms, you'd be better off getting a head that could put out an equal impedance to the cab than you would to get the cab rewired. what are you using for a head again?

ampeg B2R
fairly low power solid state amp that can run at 8 or 4 ohms

If it is 2ohms try to find a Traynor Monoblock b or monoblock II
both heads are almost the same, monoblock II has a graphic eq.

They put out like 325 watts at 2ohms. should be able to find one in good condition between $300-$400

or even an old acoustic head. Like the 370

i think i've sorta solved my situation...
went digging at work and found an old peavey power amp... 2 ohms...
gonna see if i can make it work this weekend.
it might not be great, but like my prior peavey experiences with peavey, it probably won't break, or blow up... 80s peavey is awesome.

Yeah, take the send of the effects loop in the ampeg and put into the power amp. If that works out, maybe consider replacing the head with a preamp?
