Looking for some new tunes.

Heard Suffering Bastard for the first time recently, and FUCKING LOVED IT.

So... who else should I be checking out in this category?

Man is the Bastard
Spazz
Infest
Despise You
Ulcer

Honestly, I never liked the term. To me it just sounds like fast hardcore or in some cases grindcore. Whatever floats your banana boat though.

Same impression here. If I'd never heard the term "power violence", I'd call it grind. Just that the punk nerds have all these distinctions nowadays.

Regardless, it appears that some bands fall into the category, so that's why I posed the question this way.

Hummingbird of Death and xBrainiax are my two favorite bands doing this style today, check them out. Also the first Weekend Nachos 7" called Torture. Their newer stuff is very different but Torture is a pv record, no doubt.

toggletoggle post by bloblovesmusic at Jan 14,2010 12:21pm
Hummingbird rules!

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Jan 14,2010 5:00pm
I also want to recommend two more. I don't think Extortion is a pv band but lots of people insist they are, plus they rule and are around today so that's one. The other is Suppression, not surre if they're still active but they mix pv with harsh noise like Man is the Bastard does.

Aerosols. So f'n good. Also, failures. Love youth attack

Ah, Suppression. They are awesome.

Quills from Japan are pretty rad.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Jan 14,2010 10:34pm
Quill isn't a plural band name for the Japanese band but I agree.
