Maxon OD9 or the OD808. Or the Tubescreamer 9/808
Let me know your personal opinions or what you use.
Pedal will be boosting a Peavey 6505 into a Randall XL cab if that helps |

Keeley modified TS9. Duh. |
|
OD808 = TS10
OD9 = TS808
I use a TS7 (TS9 circuit with the "Hot" switch added, and a different enclosure) modded to TS808 specs, and then with a few additional tweaks of my own, to boost a VHT Deliverance 60. |

DIGITECH METAL OR YOU ARE A JERK |

I RUN MY GUITAR THROUGH A HALOGEN LIGHT BULB, THROUGH AN OLD MEMOREX TAPE REEL PLAYER TO MY OLD AMP THAT WAS BUILT ONLY WITH TUBES. TO TURN IT ON I INSERT A KEY. |
|
I just got a $40 Electro Harmonix LPB-1. So far sounds great with my smaller amps. Have yet to try it boosting my JMP though. Will try and report back once I do so.
For the past year or so, I've been using a Fulltone OCD. Great pedal, but it does alter the tone a bit, so if you're looking for truly transparent boosting, it might not be the ticket. |
|
industry standard for guitar seems ts808.
lpb1 or an eq is an easy boost as well. My guitarist just got the MXR 10 band I believe, but I haven't been able to witness it yet. |
|
Whatever boost you get, just get it modded. Od-9/808 and ts-9/808 are 4 slightly different flavors of each other. Get it modded for the transparency you want in a boost. I did, never been happier. |
