The bag is pretty cool. I like it cause it's really solid.
Things that I love:
# There is a handle on the side of the bag. That is the coolest feature.
# the top of the bag completely zips down. You can open it all the way. The computrekker opened probably 1/3rd.
# the bag is also deeper. The extra deepness was taken away from the outer pack. My sigma 15-30 fits standing straight up. on the coputrekker, it stuck up about an 1" which bulged out the outer pack.
# the wrap around straps are bag (used to hold the tripod I think) have a pieces of cloth over them in a couple places to hold them in place. This makes it so they aren't flopping all around. They also start after the slot side so that you can pull your laptop out without unclipping the side buckle. I used these side buckles to hold my bag together for months when the zippers broke. The way they have the straps, the outer area only size 1/8 of the way down.

things that I find odd:
# It's going to take a while to get used to the smaller slit where the laptop goes. 15" laptop was a little bit of a squeeze.
# Compared to the computrekker, the buckles are a little undersized, but when I loaded it up and put it on, it didn't feel like the buckles/straps were small.

tom I don't like the way that you first picture's sling sits.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 21,2009 1:10am
yeah, does a lens stay mounted on the camera body?

there's 3 sizes, mine's the mid sized (20) and I pack it to the brink of explosion. It fits my 5dII with either 16-35 or 24-70 attached, the 16-35/24-70 by itself, 50mm, my other 5D. In the top compartment I put my 70-200 and flash.

the 3N1-30 will fit a 70-200 attached I believe.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 21,2009 1:32am
that puts pressure on the weak point of a camera/lens. This design in the slingbacks led to a bunch of broken lens mounts.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 21,2009 1:32am
and your bag has a butthole.

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Dec 21,2009 1:37am
hmm, no broken lens mounts yet and I've had it for a year.

kata buttholez!

I have a crumpler 7 million dollar home which I just switched out for a lowerpro fastpack 250 which I love way more. This thread is sexy.

http://products.lowepro.com/product/Pro-Runner%20450%20AW,2184.htm

the bag is finally available.
They say up to a 17" laptop, but I tried putting a 16" laptop in it today and it was a VERY tight fit. I had to turn it around and put the thin side in first. I doubt I could get a 17" in there.
