Carcass, Impetigo, Repulsion....predate all stupid sub-genres so I wouldn't either but they all forged the path. Several people could call the first Carcass grindcore, goregrind, death metal, etc. and they would all be right.

Whether or not to call a particular band a particular genre is neither here nor there... but i wouldn't call Carcass goregrind.

I wouldn't call Carcass anything after Symphonies. Reek of Putrefaction is filthy as hell, and played a significant role in the origins of gore/grind.

hahaha...well I think GS is the typical embodiment of goregrind, Necrology is great but all other goregrind I've listened to didn't do much for me. Actually this past Maryland Death Fest was the first I heard GS, they kicked my ass, one of the best performances there, and the hot nurses spraying blood on them during the set...an "obscure" band wouldn't allow girls on stage.

I have it, it's the only exhumed material I can tolerate. I only find it listenable because it's a split with Hemdale and their tracks are lovely. Bore Metal was cool for about 10 minutes and then I lost interest. Also, 4 marks for the Kanye photoshop, Dead rules. You'll never know pleasure....
