Also, I think I remember that the "Droll" enemy character was actually a mistranslation and was supposed to be, of course, "Troll".

The amazing thing about the enemies is that it's the same picture every time with different colors for different "strengths" of enemy

i loved this game and the cartoon too. i used to draw slimes all the time.

great game. i've recently been playing batman(sunsoft) for the nes. perfect difficulty, interesting bosses, awesome array of weapons and enemies. getting to the joker is a bitch and he as a boss is also a bitch but its really rewarding to finally beat him.

Haha, old school RPGs. Where's Aril? This shit is good. I remember messing around with it when I got into NES/SNES emulators a few years back. I think I like some of the later games better but they were all kind of lackluster when compared to the Square RPGs that were coming out at the same time.

I have, it was pretty cool. VI was just a great oldschool-style RPG.

hate the dbz art. same thing with chrono trigger. still good games though...

lunar: the silver star story and lunar 2: eternal blue is where the appreeeeeesh should be at.

Holy shit, Lunar for he Sega CD is my #1 favorite RPG video game of all time!

i didnt play them until ps1 because i never had sega cd. wish i still had those games. first one is one of my all time favorites. that and suikoden ii.

Fuck yeah Dragon Warrior. Pretty sure this was the first NES game I ever beat. The soundtrack was one of the first pieces of video game music (along with Castlevania II) that got me interested in composing (as opposed to just writing a bunch of riffs). Final Fantasy made a bigger impression on me later on (plus the PC ports of Pool of Radiance and Ultima IV) but Dragon Warrior was my first console RPG romance.

Plus all three of the NES sequels were fucking awesome.

my brother used to consistently monopolize the NES by only playing these games.
