"Stile Project and all my sites (you can see the list on www.stilenet.com) are now for sale. I've been running Stileproject.com since October 1999 ...That's a long fucking time! I started the site in my moms basement in my last year of high school, and pretty much didn't leave the house for 7 years. I went from age 21 to 29 without having sex, just working on this site.
Basically, my best friend and sysadmin was offered a huge job at pretty much the coolest tech company out there, and it's something he doesn't want to turn down. He's honestly my best friend and has been running this place with me for almost 10 years. I just can't imagine doing it without him. I wouldn't want to do it without him. We work together like yin and yang.
So I guess I really have no choice but to sell. This site is at its peak right now, it has been getting more traffic this month than ever before. The last 6 months the traffic has gone up and up. This month Stile Project will have 10,000,000 visitors. I have people wanting to buy ad space lined up a mile away and have to turn people down all the time.
Stile Project has won a Webby award, been on Howard Stern, CNN, Wired magazine... you'd be hard pressed to find someone that hasn't heard of Stile Project.
Right now the site is getting over 400,000 visitors a day.
What I would like to do is have someone buy all my sites and hire me to run them, and provide me with resources and a full time programmer to redo everything from scratch. I have a vision of what the future of my network can be, but I just don't have the resources to do it. Stile Project could be one of the biggest sites in the history of the internet if i just had some help.
