I just got the new Harpoon CD in the mail today with a bunch of promo posters. It's really fucking good except the drum samples are mixed really weird. Anyway, I feel like saying for fans of Pig Destroyer does make sense, but they also have alot of hardcore riffs that remind me of the riffs Converge write in slow songs. I recommend listening to Double Gnarly Triple Suicide. Hillarious album name, too.

Oh yeah Led to the Grave had to cancel due to their drummer breaking his hand or arm. They tried to find a fill in, but it's just not gonna work out. If any bands want on this show, hit me up. PLEASE.

The first half was awesome! Recharging (and doing laundry) before the second half!

meh show was meh

First half of this show was great, attendance dropped for the second half but Harpoon still killed it late into the night. Other highlights include Nick of To the Wolves spilling PBR on his lyrics, causing a rupture in the space-time continuum, Jim playing awesomely for HYEO prompting his cloning so he can be in more bands, and Rusty being traumatized for the rest of his life.

It was so great to have so many people there for the day show, I hope that there can be more 18+ shows at Obriens in the soon-future.

To the dudes in Mast, sorry I missed half your set. Earlier I found out the doorguy didn't charge anyone (or stole money from me to support his fucking cocaine habit... no joke) for the BBQ and I had $35 to work with. In the middle of your set I watched him let in like 3 or 4 more people for free and had a freak out session. I had to go ask my buddy who was working up at Great Scott, who also is fighting cancer right now and can barely work, to borrow $100 from him so I could pay Harpoon. On top of that I had a full blown argument with the night bartender because he kept telling me to do shit that wasn't my responsibility as a promoter. Me loosing $140 on this show aside, all the bands were great and I had a good time. Thanks for playing!

The Arkham White: these guys were great. I was really impressed with the vocals. As I said following their set, DK reminds me of Simon Brody from Drowningman on stage... which was fucking neat. I love Drowningman. Arkham's music was deceptively progressive too, like all the parts when the drummer was rocking a solid 4 pocket with the guitars doing odd patterns over it. Not the kind of stuff that makes you say "Wow that's hard", more like the stuff where you can't control your head from bobbin, but then you realize where the guitar phrases are and it makes it have a sick swing. Really good.

Endless Decay: These dudes drove from the cape for this show, and you could tell they were excited to be playing, which is real cool to see. Tight drummer, solid strings, and very Dimension Zero-ish vocals. (Murph picked that out) Good swedish influenced stuff, keep at it.

...and i had a blast playing with HYEO. I can't wait till we've played together more than 3 times so i can really nail the stuff. Nick and Rusty are two of the nicest dudes around. Fact.

oh, and this was the third show that i've been to that Rich Bova was praised on the mic. good stuff people.

hi i'm jim, there were 2 shows at the same club on the same day. I stayed for the show i was playing, watched the other bands, and had stuff to do that night. Sorry kiddo.

I am sorry about it, but there was nothing i could do. Mans got responsibilities. I was bummed though, i wanted to see INT and see what all the "HYPE" was about. And I absolutely love MAST. They're one of the best bands i've seen from the area. (not REALLY the area, but close enough.)

I gotta say, it was strange that someone who called me a "waste of life" asked to borrow my drums. If they hadn't been hurt by someone else recently i would've said yes anyways, it was just strange.
