I think it comes down to the type of paint you use. I think a powder base looks more ghostly. That bullshit you get from the party store just makes you look like Sting from WCW.

I honestly don't understand corpsepaint, though I will admit the Watain guy's looks the closest to un-gay.

i hate the way Gaahl looks, i think its mostly because of his total lack of enthusiasm in his photos. i have a big problem with the lack of enthusiasm most black metal bands have now, like Setherial taking a gay photo in a concrete hallway. damn it, how hard is it to find trees? Immortal may be over the top, but at least they are enthusiastic.

i love the black metal image, its so ridiculous that its awesome, but you have to do it right, and not many bands do. like old Gorgoroth from when Pest was singing, that is classic. Dimmu Borgir just looks ultra fucking gay now, on For All Tid and Stormblast they were so much better looking. Frost from Satyricon has always been able to take really good photos.
