Looks like Vista is going down the toilet?

I think we should all give up now and just use linux.

unless you want to use any of the applications that we've aquired.

the windows 7 demos looks killer.

I just got a laptop with Vista on it. I actually like it so far. Granted, I've only had it for 2 weeks, but still.

I had a more enjoyable experience with Ubuntu than any windows system i've used (besides 98). I always hated the fact that I had to use this thing called VDM Sound to run my old DOS music programs in XP. And they still don't work as well as they did in 95 and 98.

just watched a windows 7 demo, and I'm impressed.

doesn't work well in dosbox.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 8,2009 10:17am
then update the vdm wiki to say that.

VDM sound doesn't run for ubuntu. I had to use it in XP.
I used this thing called "CheeseTracker" in Ubuntu - it's an imitation program for "Impulse Tracker" - the DOS program I used to write music from since 96ish. CheeseTracker is better than any of the other imitation programs out for XP.

hey man, I'm not dissing on Windows. I just think Ubuntu (and others) have the potential to blow Windows out of the water. And I think it'll happen in the next 5-10 years. CYA MICROSOFT

I have to agree here. There's too much awesome software for Win32.

And don't use Linux, use FreeBSD!

I've had an alpha version of Windows 7 at work and it screams compared to Vista, and the compatibility is all there. I think it'll do well when it comes out.

XP was the absolute fucking worst for "plug and play" and networking.

That OS couldn't recognize fucking shit.

Vista has crashed on me like 100x since I got this computer in February, although there are some major fixes for networking and peripheral recognition.

I've had this Mac OSX 10.4 laptop for about 2 years or so now, and it's crash two times. Actually a full crash once, and a weird crash 1/2 time...I think the battery just died.
