I just got this and love it but I'm wondering if I dial in a cool tone and want to record with it...

Can I record with my tone in GR3 into like Cubase or whatever I'm running?

Im sure theres a way, I honestly dont know anything about this GR3 though. Depending on how you have it set up and how it works with your computer/ sound card, you gotta choose the right input source for the sound to be recorded in the recording program. Its one of those pesky things i tend to forget to do before i try recording something on the fly in Sonar from my Line 6 toneport, i guess it acts as its own sound card hence being an "interface" , so i have to keep remembering to select "TONEPORT" as my input source to record and TONEPORT stereo just to hear what ever is being recorded.

i got guitar rig 2 and that is a vst plugin so 3 is definitely a vst. i use it in cubase for everything...guitar, bass, vox, keys, even my drum machine. shits' dope

Matt do you have anything to share that youve recorded? I might start using Cubase again and I may even look into buying one of these rigs cause im getting sick of the toneport.

MDB: How do you use it in Cubase? Do you have Cubase open and GR3 open at the same time and play?

Or do you save your GR3 sound and apply it to regular recorded tracks? I use Cubase too...

PLEASE HELP!

i have a mac so this is what i did:

just put the guitar rig folders in the same folder/ path as the cubase plugins you got with the cubase software...my comp just found it (you may have to search for the new vst with the windows one) then on the channel you arm for recording just go to inserts (where the other vst plugins are) and put guitar rig on and the same window comes to cubase as is does in standalone. you can record with a GR preset and you can change the presets after you record your guitar track if you don't care for the one you initially used. i use a presonus firestudio into cubase and it sounds incredible... plenty of tools in cubase to tweak the guitar sound to perfection...hope this helps

Anthony- yes i have recorded some stuff and am thinking of making a soundclick account of just random shit i made..mostly ambient electronic bullshit that sucks.... i would love to make some metal but i cant get drums!!! i couldn't get them rolling in cubase so i bought an sr-16 and am still having a diffikvlt time. ill figure it out though.

you working on any new CB material?

I'm on a Mac too...

I figured out how to use it with Logic Pro.

ya i actually have logic pro i just tend to go back to cubase cause im used to it.. do you like Logic betteR?

I'm better with Cubase but I just got a new MacBook Pro and the Cubase LE disk I have wont install on 10.5 for some reason so I just got Logic. I'm learning but it seems pretty straight forward so far. I don't need many options, I just want to be able to plug and play...

GR3 is soooo fucking easy with Logic Pro.
