Fuck ice storms and fuck everyone who was able to take a shower this morning. I sit at work and stink.

toggletoggle post by pam   at Dec 12,2008 10:08am
I would have called in. I'm that serious about my morning shower.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Dec 12,2008 10:11am
we are running on a generator at work

My basement is flooded worse than it ever has before.

I am worried about that -- dry when I left, but no power to run the sump pump if the flood waters rise.

this is like the day the earth stood still

Power went out at my house just as left for work, then power went out at work just after getting there. I was about ready to leave after an hour and a half, just to have the power come right back on. Foiled once again.

We just had some rain. There is an advantage to living on the South Coast. Sure, there's lots of illegal immigrants and crime, but we usually miss all the terrible weather.

toggletoggle post by dftg at Dec 12,2008 10:35am
There's no ice storm going on here in CT, but it has been raining pretty much non-stop for three days.

toggletoggle post by Josh_Martin at Dec 12,2008 10:47am
Everyone here at work has no power at home except for me. I live in the shittiest city in the state and we were the first ones (and apparantly only ones) to get our power back.
Last night around 12 there were two window rattling explosions. They were transformers at the power station blowing up. Burglar alarms were going off (not car alarms, building alarms where a wicked loud voice starts going "Burglary!! Burglary!!) It was awesome. I thought Lawrence was going to turn into bagdhad or something. Maybe that's why they got the power back on so fast.

What sucked though, is it happened in the middle of Robot Chicken and it was one I hadn't seen before. I was pissed. What happened with the guy who was dating his GPS system?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 12,2008 2:59pm

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Dec 12,2008 3:10pm
Concord has had power all day. I was in Londonderry earlier -- that town got WORKED. Hardwood trees snapped in half, lines down everywhere -- looks like a fucking bomb hit. My home phone is back up, not sure about power, answering machine still not picking up.

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Dec 12,2008 3:10pm
Oh and finally got to take a shower at the gym. Me smell better.

toggletoggle post by pam   at Dec 12,2008 3:17pm

the sun's out here too, but no power. I just got carina back online using her travel laptop, a car jumpstarter, an inverter, and a cellphone.

I bet you could craft a mean bong.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 12,2008 3:31pm
when ever I try to make a bong, my car goes back to 1955, but my carpets get clean.

toggletoggle post by vesgoreNLI at Dec 12,2008 3:32pm

Kinda glad I don't still live in NH. My old place is probably a block of ice right now. Providence seems ok today. We got hella rain for 2 days.

toggletoggle post by sLAMDOG at Dec 12,2008 5:29pm
If peopel here are saying they have no power, but yet they can leave a comment on here? where is the power to use the pc or maybe cell phones or a back up generator to just log onto RTTP?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 12,2008 5:30pm

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Dec 19,2008 11:13am
Still no power -- supposedly going to have it back today -- there were line crews in my area last night.

By the way, I am posting from WORK, not HOME.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 19,2008 11:15am
my mom got it back yesterday.
my dad is still out and there were at last count, 10 miles of down lines around his house.

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Dec 19,2008 11:21am
He's in Deering, right? That must be a fucking nightmare out there.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 19,2008 11:26am
