WHAT!?!? This is fantasteristic!

Thats actaully a very fitting tour I think. Always thought old Meshuggah stole those Cynic leads.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Dec 9,2008 12:18pm
twill be more so once a mass date is added... or at least a New England date.

Gojira should be on this tour. BLAST!

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Dec 9,2008 12:25pm
Gojira SHOULD be on it, but they aren't. Oh well, and i don't think they got their leads from Cynic, i think they got them from Alan Holdsworth. If you haven't heard his stuff, i think once you do you will agree. He's from the mid 70's i think. Fredrik Thordendal worships him.

I heard the faceless is on this too.

Now THAT makes me really happy.

...and it makes sense. As i have been ranting to everyone about how the new faceless rips off Fredrik's solo disk. This tour is exciting. Hope it comes close.

toggletoggle post by c.DeAD at Dec 9,2008 2:45pm
"Fredrik Thordendal "

I actually liked his solo cd better than his band, so I will have to check that out.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Dec 9,2008 2:47pm
Yeah, like i was saying in best cd of 08 thread, the new faceless reminds me ALOT of that record, mixed with the faceless speed. Good stuff.... and yeah, i like "sol niger within" better than most meshuggah records too. That DOESN'T include "chaosphere". That record is polymetric madness. Love it.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Dec 9,2008 2:49pm
Gordian Knot should be added. That'd be somewhat impossible though - they'd be too tired from playing both bands.

toggletoggle post by c.DeAD at Dec 9,2008 2:54pm
"Destroy Erase Improve" was really the only one that got me wet.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Dec 9,2008 2:56pm
DEI is the absolute best meshuggah album.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Dec 9,2008 2:59pm
DEI is. Agreed. That alarm clock song is fucking great. I can't remember the titles, it's been a long time since I've heard that album.

toggletoggle post by c.DeAD at Dec 9,2008 3:00pm
"Suffer in Truth" has to have the best ending. Love that song.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Dec 9,2008 3:26pm
"that alarm clock song" hahahahahahahahahaha that's awesome.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Dec 9,2008 3:28pm
Hahaha, that is also my favorite on there.

lol...you mean Future Breed Machine?

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Dec 9,2008 3:31pm
Haha, there's no other way to describe it if you've forgotten the title and the lyrics. I seriously haven't heard that album in 4-5+ years.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Dec 9,2008 3:46pm
YES, Future Breed Machine. That's the title. Thanks RustyPS.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Dec 9,2008 4:31pm
yea, future breed machine is a good tune.... probably the best one on DEI. While chaosphere is petty much all good. DEI has gang vocal parts i don't really dig, and they polymetric parts aren't as thought out. While the Polymetric parts on Nothing are TOO thought out, I think chaosphere is right in the middle. I am still thinking about getting the chaosphere tatooed on my leg. I know, i know, band tatoos are stupid... but there was no other record that i worshipped for so long.

Let's do it. Anyone have any idea when tix go on sale?

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Dec 9,2008 5:24pm
Take that day, and the friday off. Why not, we can get a place in NY for the night and lounge back to MA sometime friday. Should be enough advance to do it.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Dec 9,2008 5:24pm
I hope it's at the Nokia theatre, that fucking place was the best venue for a metal show i have EVER been to. Me and darkwar saw the carcass show there.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Dec 9,2008 5:26pm
doesn't make sense that they have 4 shows in CA and 2 in Washington State. NO FUCKING NEW ENGLAND dates?
this is westcoast biased. They need more east coast dates asap. No fucking Florida dates? Cynic can't play in their home-state?

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Dec 9,2008 5:29pm
The nokia theatre is in fact NOT busy that night.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Dec 9,2008 5:35pm
It is confirmed, darkwar is driving at least me to NY for this, and we will get a room for thur and fri and come back sat. There may or may not be room in the car depending on when whoever reserves it.

MESHUGGAH NORTH AMERICAN TOUR BROUGHT TO YOU BY MYSPACE!

Intent on decimating the boundaries of extreme music with their metric art, Sweden’s MESHUGGAH will be returning to North America in February 2009 on a 17-show headlining tour presented by MySpace Music.

Direct support to MESHUGGAH will be provided by the legendary progressive metal band Cynic. Opening all shows will be technical progressive death metallers The Faceless from Los Angeles. As one of the most popular and highly trafficked music platforms in the world, MySpace Music has evolved into an offline experience by connecting bands and fans around the world through various concert series and live events.

About MySpace Music:
MySpace Music is a landmark joint venture among MySpace, The EMI Group, SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony ATV, and whose independent music distribution partners include The Orchard, IODA, Alternative Distribution Alliance, RED, Fontana, and Caroline.

MySpace Music offers an ever-growing catalog of freely streamable audio and video content, user-friendly e-commerce solutions, personal music players, and user and artist playlisting.

MySpace Music aims to empower major, independent, and unsigned artists to monetize their content through multiple revenue streams by allowing the MySpace community to freely stream premium content in an ad-supported environment, purchase MP3s and ringtones, create and share playlists, and ultimately buy merchandise, concert tickets, and other digital and physical goods.

MySpace Music also connects artists and fans in the offline arena through various concert series and live events including Secret Shows, MySpaceLIVE!, Transmissions, The Release, Front to Back and The List.

Two additional tour dates will be announced shortly.

It would've been too awesome for Cynic to be playing in Worcester on the 21st. That's why it's not happening.

... trust me, the opinions of "online friends" would play absolutely no role in whether or not i get a particular tattoo.

While i dig focus as much as the next guy, i am a big fan of the new album. So i wouldn't mind hearing most of that.
