Gojira SHOULD be on it, but they aren't. Oh well, and i don't think they got their leads from Cynic, i think they got them from Alan Holdsworth. If you haven't heard his stuff, i think once you do you will agree. He's from the mid 70's i think. Fredrik Thordendal worships him.

...and it makes sense. As i have been ranting to everyone about how the new faceless rips off Fredrik's solo disk. This tour is exciting. Hope it comes close.

Yeah, like i was saying in best cd of 08 thread, the new faceless reminds me ALOT of that record, mixed with the faceless speed. Good stuff.... and yeah, i like "sol niger within" better than most meshuggah records too. That DOESN'T include "chaosphere". That record is polymetric madness. Love it.

Gordian Knot should be added. That'd be somewhat impossible though - they'd be too tired from playing both bands.

"Destroy Erase Improve" was really the only one that got me wet.

DEI is the absolute best meshuggah album.

DEI is. Agreed. That alarm clock song is fucking great. I can't remember the titles, it's been a long time since I've heard that album.

"Suffer in Truth" has to have the best ending. Love that song.

yea, future breed machine is a good tune.... probably the best one on DEI. While chaosphere is petty much all good. DEI has gang vocal parts i don't really dig, and they polymetric parts aren't as thought out. While the Polymetric parts on Nothing are TOO thought out, I think chaosphere is right in the middle. I am still thinking about getting the chaosphere tatooed on my leg. I know, i know, band tatoos are stupid... but there was no other record that i worshipped for so long.

apparently when Cynic toured Europe, the only old song they played was Veil of Maya. hopefully we get to hear more songs off Focus

a good friend and i are taking a few days vacation and going to the montreal date. gonna be sick, weve wanted to go see montreal for a while now and a cynic show is a great catalyst.

While i dig focus as much as the next guy, i am a big fan of the new album. So i wouldn't mind hearing most of that.

Fuck this tour for not coming to MA. I have to make it to the NY gig or else missing this will haunt me 'til the end of my days.
