The Sox finally found the best place to put Cocoa Crisp... Kansas City. A deal is in place to send him to the Royals for 27 year old reliever Ramon Ramirez 2.64 ERA last season, 70 Ks in 71 innings.

I liked Crisp, and I think he's a good ball player, but he never lived up to the expectations. Maybe one of the best things he ever did for the Sox was hit well in the ALCS, and drive up his trade value.

we def need relief more than we need coco. i'll miss the little bugger though. too bad he had to go to the royals... man they suck.

the way i see it. coco and jacoby are essentially the same player. neither of them make errors in centerfield, and the both only occasionally hit well. so, why do we need two of them? I think this is a fucking great move.

good move. I'm still not a fan of ellsbury.

bring back ellis burks, bitches.

Coco*

I'm not sure how I feel about this, I liked Coco a lot.

I had no idea anyone on the red sox was involved with gangs.

not really liking this so far. the jacoby/coco tandem was perfect for an outfield with jd drew in it.

i'll be all for it if they keep Masterson in the bullpen next year and AJ for the starting staff.

oh yeah goodbye Moose you dirty fuck

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Nov 19,2008 9:53pm
didnt he already play for the red sox at one point with pedro? or did he always play for the royals?

toggletoggle post by W3 nli at Nov 19,2008 10:02pm

You weren't gonna keep Cocoa, and Ellsbury in the same outfield forever. Eventually you were going to have to get rid of one of them. Crisp had already expressed a lot of displeasure with having to share the position, and maybe rightfully so. He was kind of a disappointment with the Sox, but he's a starting center fielder on most ball clubs. Ellsbury has a lot of room to develop, and (I think) has more raw talent than Crisp. Keep in mind he's still really young. I think time will show this to be the smart move. And one way or another it's smarter than just releasing Crisp and getting nothing for him.

now when is the Lugo deal gonna be done and we'll bring in D Train motherfucker.

ps i love how the Sox are going after all the Marlins old pitchers

def can't argue with any of that. i forgot about coco's words of displeasure.
i just felt that coco had finally started to be the player we paid for. i often wondered what he would've brought to the table this season as an everyday player. maybe solid, maybe the same as the past few seasons. and it seems like the league figured out ellsbury. hopefully he'll adapt to that, but who knows. i guess at the end of the day, ellsbury has all the upside. youth and locked up for cheap.

haha right. burnett may be added to that list

Go after CC. Fuck Burnett.

toggletoggle post by W3 nli at Nov 20,2008 2:25pm
ok the Yankees posted somthing retarded like 4 years 140million dollars, i dont think the Sox are gonna try to top that. plus CC blows in the playoffs and has shown that over the last two years even though he is the best work horse during the regular season.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck you buddy

are you kidding me? ellsbury's a fucking stiff.

youre welcome but where was the beer... or should i have asked for a root beer?

toggletoggle post by pires at Nov 20,2008 8:10pm
sox pitching AND bats blew the playoffs so getting CC wouldn't be bad. That rotation would be nuts if he was there. I don't trust bucholz and any of the other big name pitchers out on the market. And lugo for willis would be ok if he could be the solid lefty he used to be. 2 left handed pitchers who are good would be great in an already stellar rotation.
