Ok, so I was on the net and this came up from most searched on yahoo www.metallica.com Well I noticed that the promo photo has them all wearing black and leather jackets. I guess they are just trying to be the image they need for this album and not all dressed up in armani etc.... as that other photo.. Someone please just slash james throat, cut kirks fingers off and decapitate lars head... Trujillo is the only one I have credit for in this band. Always a fan of him since seeing and hearing him in infectious grooves and live back in 1993 @ Avalon(RIP) Please somebody just do something to this band! hey I wont lie, but if they needed a drummer I would be first in line to just sign the million dollar contract, but to hear and listen to... never!!

why can't people get over the fact that they are not the metallica of old...they're in their late 40's . I am definetly in the minority, but I think "death magnetic" is their best effort since ...and justice..that's right, I said it!

p.s. infectious grooves' best song can't top ANYTHING on death magnetic.

Well on a good note I saw them and a double header with Suicidal and it was a great time, I almost got funky and thrashy at this show... ! great night and respected it so much more before the hord of wannabe now a days and in the last 5 years ... Anyway... yeah metallica is not metallica, they are just "Crapatilla"

Metallica dropped their Gucci slacks and took a giant shit on all of us. They don't even deserve the chance to resurrect their image. This band was turning out watered down radio hits when I was in 6th grade. SIXTH GRADE. I'm in grad school now, and they're trying to make up for all that time in between that they spent not only writing awful music, but thumbing their nose at their old fans for not appreciating their new awful music. Why would anyone even give them the dignity of deliberating it??

Seriously, how many interviews did Kirk Hammet, or Lars do where one of them would pop off about how disappointed they were about their old fans condemning their new music so much? Face it. Metallica hated you. They still hate you, except now they want your money again. This album is a novelty campaign.

it is just a way to combine old and new fans or recent fans to join together to make money for James trucks, shpping and lars art and stupid glasses etc.. and kirk, who know, and Rob,...well hopefully to jam and make more metal! I have not bothered to hear a whole album since the black album and never will unless it is at a party. Checked the shit on utube and it was better, but so many other bands sound heavier and like the u tube about metallicas new riff that sounds like reign in blood blew me away. Kerry K. should sue..big money!!

i completely agree. i keep hearing the excuse for their music as "well its their band they can do what they want with the music". yes, i understand that, but this isn't just some band with fans. this is fucking Metallica who has and has had legions of fans for so many years dishing out millions of dollars, putting those fucking Gucci slacks on them, so to me, that makes Metallica the FANS band. Metallica owes their fans what the fans want to hear. but you're right, they just mooned everyone and said "fuck off".

i for one can't get over it because they were so good and now they're so bad. It's that simple. Look at morbid Angel, have you heard their new stuff? It's great. And they only started a couple years after Metallica. (2-3) And what do you care anyways? People rip on bands all the time, if this band stopped saying that this was gonna sound like their old stuff, people would probably stop being pissed it doest.

And for the record: NOTHING after justice sounds anything like anything justice or before. Not even close.

To ouchdrummer, it was infectious Grooves who opened and then ST played the night set.... No opening... I remember becuase I made my roommates go....they even had agood time and they love classic rock and pearl jam when they were the scene...!! It is funnny that destory you alot says that but to me all the new members deserve what they get, he has been playing and is very talented so he should get the sex slaves and car! Same as Rob.. who has payed his dues by playing with so many other bands and then getting a big gig! Metallica did their own thing and when money came they started to shoot it up their ass and not metal, so now they just shit on money and fans and undermine our intelligence of what is good anymore.. maybe they need to listen to the people... i say impeach them out of metal...!!!!

agreed that nothing sounds close to ...and justice since then, I just think its their best effort since then.....skipping over the craptacular bob rock years. also glad to see even any attempt at getting back to what made them such a great band many moons ago.

So then what do you guys think of slayer trying to recapture their roots again on the christ illusion... ???? Anyone!

seth.. I think its fuckin killa that bands like slayer, exodus, testament and other bay area bands are and have always been heavy and innovative, I'm just glad (with all $$$ issues asside) that metallica is finally back on the boat.

It is the best thing since "...and justice for all" - but I don't see where you are in the minority or what would be surprising by that statement. Everything since Justice has been mall-metal-hardrock-alternative-powerballad-bastardizations.

Infectious Grooves is way better than Metallica has been since Justice. You are faking the funk.

I was both amused/saddened by watching the studio footage of making this album... watching Rob bust out some heinous bassage before recording starts, and then once the recording for the song starts he plays the most godawful simple plunka-plunka bassline. What a waste.

Metallica died a long time ago
