New site? Maybe some day.
neck through.
mahogs body.
81/85 combo.
pearl binding.
reverse head stock.
let the decimation begin. |
Wow....now THAT is a rock-n-roll machine right there. Well done, sir. |
thanks man. im psyched to get it so i can start chipping away at the new dysentery shit. |
From a purely cosmetic standpoint, I really like how the white binding on the body goes up the neck and around the headstock...haven't seen that style on a b/w guitar. |
only other one i know off the top of muh head, would be the ltd m-1000.
Troof...doesn't go around the body like yours does, and well...you've got a B.C. fucking Rich. You're automatically more metal and better than most people. |
Now that is a very metal axe -- me thinks you'll enjoy that.
I just bought Hoser's M-320 -- I haven't had a chance to set it up though. |

i think i know the one...but post some pics regardless man! |
sometimes I forget that I have a super sweet B.C. Rich lying around |
It's an NJ Neck-Thru Series Mockingbird. Translucent Red. They don't appear to make them anymore and I haven't had a picture of the thing for awhile.
I'm thinking of getting it fixed up since I think Pires and I are starting some sort of death metal project.
http://www.bcrich.com/Mockingbird_calibre.asp
it's close to looking like that. Same color and fretboard inlays. Different headstock, black hardware, and floyd rose instead of stoptail, though. |
I replaced the stock pickups with Dimarzio Evolution's. |

cant wait to hear what comes of the DM project man! |
Pertyyyy
I've never played a B.C. Rich that was over $300. Really curious to how the high end of B.C. stuff plays. |
this is just below 'high end' imo.
yeah, mine was in the $800 range. Good guitar...some of the hardware and electronics were shoddy though. I had better luck with the LTD (with more strenuous use, as well) when it came to it holding together. |
Congrats on your lovely acquisition, Nick. As the proud father of two neck-thru USA Warlocks, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the club. |
And yes, they do make us better than most people. |
Pretty sweet for sure, is that an OFR or licensed? Looks damn nice
Here's my new one:
Purple is totally metal and James from Arsis uses the same exact guitar. In fact, I haven't seen him with the purple RG in awhile so maybe I have his. |
thats hot as fuck.
its Licenced btw. |
Get rid of the EMGs guy. Otherwise, solid looking and probably sounding guitar. |
errrrrrrr a dood they are too bright!
to much output!
to sterile!
ahhhh alnico vs ceramic ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
duncan duncan duncan duncan duncan duncan duncan duncan duncan
ITS A MATTER OF TASTE GENTS... blue is gonna set us all straight when he comes back from lanscaping in the land of andover. |
too bad the new ironbird looks gay..if it looked anything like that warlock id be at the store right now! |
EMGs are bland and boring sounding. If you really want to go active there are other choices out there. There are other EMGs and then there's the SD Blackout and I'm sure there are more out there. Even then, passive is the way to go for real tone. |

Hahaha touche.
Blue and I actually talked about how EMGs suck da B.I.G. wun last night. |
WHY CANT YOU TRUST BLUE?
anyone who works a 40 hour work week (manual labor) and does not consume 1 beer per night, post haste is a robot. (a robot with a heart of weed possibly but he is still not to be trusted.) |
I disagree completely -- I have 2 guitars with 81s and 1 guitar with a 60 and I like both. I'll let you tone-whores fight it out. |
I have a dick in one guitar and a cawk in my other.
Best pickups I've ever heard. |
hate EMGs. Hate, hate, hatem. |

I usually work 40 hours, sometimes much more, manual labor, don't consume beer and have a heart of tacos. You can trust me though, because I am all about EMG 81 in the neck position for a tone sweeter than a Cheesy Gordita Crunch.
Speaking of which, I finally get to replace the 60 in my LTD with an 81 as soon as Grant wants to drop it off in Woburn (hint hint). That guitar is my soulmate, but the 60 does no justice for its tone; it's been out of commission for quite some time now. Maybe I'll get a CGC to accompany the 81. |
tell eliot to jam with me and ill leave it there baybay |
Tell yourself to drive to Woburn tonight and drop it off. And you can witness Composted create the slammiest song in history. |
what time are you guys jamming? |
We'll be getting down to business at approximately 7 pm. |
I'll text you when im leaving. are you getting food in wooooburn before because i may want to tag along. |
You are the man!
I'm getting food on the way. I need a CGC, and Woburn just doesn't have that. |
60 is normally a neck pick up. (james hetfieldgayfagqueer.)
i use it for the bridge. (disgorge does to)
NOTE: if your in dysentery or any other slammy death metal band....
you dont need a neck pick up...BECAUSE YOU DONT PLAY LEADS. |
TOTAL AND UTTER LACK OF TOAN |
I am a EMG fan/user but only in mahogany woods. I have 81/85 in my jackson (alder or basswood body) and I kinda dont like it. |
I always fucking say neck when I mean bridge. Dammit. I am putting an 81 in my bridge, not my neck. |
oh, and nick I call dibs on the JACKSON if it go's |
is that the big dude from slipknot sig model?
sick bro. |
oh, and nick I call dibs on the JACKSON if it go's |
nah big bro. i will be content with these two.
I used to hate emgs when I played my Blackmore, Fireball, and Powerball.. however now that I use a 5150 I love the EMGs. I love them so much that I just sold my ESP M-II with passives because the RG550 is my new main guitar.
To each his own, really. I won't replace the pickups in this guitar for sure. |

HAHAHA. sweet troll. |
In my opinion, active pickups sound better. But that's all for bass. Guitars don't really matter to me as much because all I really do is play in my room. |
Just put my 81 in the bridge of my LTD MH400. This thing sounds like sex. Mmmmmm. |

Good man. |
Thank you sir. The 60 just wasn't cutting it anymore. |

IT's higher output? How was it not cutting it?
WANNA MEASURE DICKS?
the 60 is easily the best emg out there. SUPER underrated and easily
the most versatile. of course this is nothing but semantics to you anti-emg doods.
an 81 is was way to harsh imo for a bridge pu. if it wasnt 'cutting the mustard' its because your axe is prob made of super young, and probobly mank ass wood (swamp ass / basswood.)... |
btw, Hooker is NOT a troll |

i still want to get you into a 60a and see what you think. |
I like the EMG 60 -- I have one in the bridge position in my Ibanhad. It's warmer and not as brash sounding as the 81 -- though I like the nastiness of the 81 as well. |

i to once dabbled in pacifism. |

The 60, at least in my LTD, paled in comparison to the 81 in terms of tone. When I played the LTD with the 60 in it, notes sounded like they were missing or too subtle all over the place and sounded a bit too dry; it also did not pick up the attack I was giving the strings, essential for proper slamming. As soon as I started playing Eliot's Schecter (which is now my Schecter) with an 81 I realized how much of a difference there is. Now that there's an 81 in the LTD, the sound is nearly identical to the Schecter.
If you want I'll still measure my dick for you. :* |
When I read the subject for this thread, I thought, "I bet this will be a BC Rich." Then I laughed. |

Why would you want two guitars that sound identical? What's the point in having two guitars then? |
Well, they're not completely identical, plus they both feel different. The main reason to have both though is that I need a back up, since I break tons of strings. And, eventually I'm going to need 2 guitars both tuned differently (1 for Composted and 1 for The Body Farm). |
Backup guitars are for pussies. |
Backup guitars are for dudes who utilize their phalloi inside various orifices of females in a sexual manner. |
Wait, then why do you have one? |
Ooh good one! Ask your mom. Snap, son, snap. |
