If I was looking to get from the north part of Dover back to the ME Turnpike (going to Scarborough), would it be better to suffer through Route 9 thru Berwick, or cut my losses and head back down 16 and pick up 95?

what time of day?

9 usually isn't that bad unless it's rush hour. I usually take 9.

It will probably be around 3 or 4pm by the time I am making that leg of my journey.

i will answer too since i work in dover...route 9 has a Pratt & Whitney so it's going to be congested there at that time. Take route 4 to Sanford and then at the light, take a right and get route 9 from there..to the turnpike exit in wells.

carina is right and I was going to ask why you couldn't take rt 4. that is exactly what I do. er. did when I worked in rochester. there is one spot were rt 9 says turn right at some lights but there are 2 rights... hope they have better signs now.
