yes and no. it's sounds like fight ambition to kill.. sort of... like it starts out sounding 100% like it could be off that disc. then it cuts in something that sounds like 1997 shadows fall.

and it's got talking vocals. plus the background vox has echoes on it.

the songs not bad, but its not super awesome either. im more interested in hearing the re-recorded tracks i guess.

oh yeah, and the lyrics and song title are also a song off of 'of one blood.' i guess brian took the lyrics to SF after overcast broke up the very first time.

two things are lame about this, not writing new lyrics for a new song.... even if it is old... if I was shadows fall I would sue... or vice versa

I havent listened to shadows fall since art of balance, so I hadnt really noticed how much his voice has changed, but it pisses me off how much he sounds like Rob Fusco in Most Precious Blood (not okd when he was amazing), and I seem to remember watching something a few years back about how when you get signed to a major hardcore and metal vocalists get some sort of training to keep their voices from blowing out, I wonder if thats why both of their voices have changed so much from when they sounded nothing alike to sounding almost identical... if thats the case then that is thing 2 on my lame list

This sounds lame. Disappointed so far.

First off the reason it sounds like Fight Ambition is because it was written right after that record 11 years ago. Second of all these lyrics were written before Brian joined Shads. Why would he write new ones for? He just never thought this song would be released. Also I think what you meant to say was that Rob from MPB sounds like Brian since Overcast started back in 1991. Go check em out when they come through with Dissolve. Two bands that made amazing music and absolutly destroy live!

Ill definitely be catching them at the Albany show, but I wasnt referring to the way Brian sounded so much as the way he sounds now, and Rob sounded nothing like Brian when Rob started, now they sound like mirror images of one another without sounding anything like how they sounded when the started, respectively... If you think the new vocals sound like the old vocals for either Rob or Brian... well good for you...

before you get all pissy about how vocalists voices change with time, I respect that, what bothers me is that vocalists train to sound a certain way when they get signed to larger labels

and he should have written new lyrics for the shad song, or written new lyrics for this song since he had already used the old lyrics in a new band (which is lame)

Or at least a new chorus.
