KSM27 is new in box, never had an XLR cable plugged into it.

1884 is used in great shape and works fine. This thing really is bad ass and it is not one of the buggy ones lots of people got. This thing makes for some bad ass recordings!

Can the fw1884 be used just as a controller/mixer? ( I already have a digi002 and trident preamps so I don't want to use this as an interface just as a controller, would this work w/ a 002 as a controller/mixer?)

works just fine as a dedicated control surface. I like the preamps better than my old digi02 also. But yeah, works like a charm, motorized faders, majority of functions right as hotkeys etc etc etc.
