Police: Mom Goes Nightclubbing; Son, 5, Home Alone

TEMPE, Ariz. -- A Tempe woman who went nightclubbing and left her 5-year-old son home alone was arrested early Monday, police said.

Marquita Martin, 22, was taken into custody around 4:50 a.m. and booked on a charge of child abuse.

Martin was arrested at 1133 W. Baseline Road, officers said.

Police said a neighbor became concerned for the child's welfare and called 911.

Officers said they found the boy inside the apartment unharmed but very scared.

Martin had left her apartment at 10 p.m. Sunday and returned at 3:55 a.m. while the boy fended for himself, police said.

She was booked into Tempe City Jail.

Yeah, in a sarcastic way "gives" becomes "could have prevented" kind of thing, it just seems like most teenage parents can't grasp the concept of beign responsible, drugs may be at play on most cases or just bad judgment from them, either way, if you can't raise a child give him away to a foster home or something(gone baby gone is an example)
