I saw it last week. Highly recommended. It was a really different film for the Coen brothers, but you could definitely still see their style, very cleverly written, and actually really suspenseful. I don't know the actor's name who played the villain, but he totally blew me away. You'll either love the ending, or you won't get it. I don't want to sound like a movie snob or anything, but you'll probably be able to tell the difference between the people who watch movies intelligently, and people who thought it was going to be US Marshalls II when the movie ends.

Just a hint. There's a scene where Tommy Lee Jones is talking with his wife about a dream he had. Pay attention to it. I won't spoil anything, but don't be that guy.

Nobody wants to be Tomy Lee Jones.

Late into the game, but this is one amazing movie and one of the Coen Brothers' best by far. Bardem gave a top 5 chilling bad-guy performance (if you aren't familiar with him, check out Jamon, Jamon and Before Night Falls, one of the best Spanish actors around). All of the Coen trademarks were there and it's especially reminiscent of Blood Simple (particularly all of the shots of feet and dragging objects over asphalt).

It's also one of the best book adapaptations I've ever seen, and I was really stoked to see that they left nearly every single line of dialogue in. I also noticed that most people in the theater didn't seem to "get it" and complained that there was no resolution, when it's actually one of the most well-resolved and tied-up movies I've seen recently. Simply awesome!

I keep hearing nothing but good reviews, 4 stars, and everything everywhere but I've yet began to to see it :( I wanted to but now I have to wait till the DVD comes out.

Just saw this and totally got a text when the final scene came up....yet is it safe to say Lee's story is just a tale of "another day on the job"?
I loved this movie but actually found There Will Be Blood to be more gripping, compelling and a little more in depth.

i need to see both of those movies

I thought he meant like, "this world is some sick nightmare we can't wake up from."
